Fantastic experience staying here. Exceeded expectations. It is as good as the pics make it look - even better. House is fully equipped with things you might need to live on the ranch in case you forget anything, and the kitchen has all the tools you would need to cook a family meal. It really feels like a home, you can tell the owners care about the place. The furniture is very comfortable, and everything was clean. We lucked out with the weather, had clear skies and spent a night watching thunderstorms far off on the horizon as the sun set and the stars came out. Front and back porches were great.
Its very remote and secluded. As long as thats what you’re looking for you wont be disappointed. Its 30+ miles to get to the main part of the Badlands Natl Park - as close as you can get without staying at a motel or campground in Wall - but right nearby are Sheep Mtn Table and the Indian Creek wilderness which actually were our favorite spots - both very quiet if you want to get away from crowds on the park road. It’s also closer to the Black Hills.
A few things: the kitchen knife was unusably dull (could barely cut chicken) and we couldn’t get the gas oven lit, which might be user error (burners worked fine). Bring your own knife if you like to cook. Would have appreciated a head up about the water so I could buy some gallons - owners provided a tank and bottled water but we luckily brought our own 5gal jug that we filled at the park visitor center a couple times.
