"After debating between many Tuscan vineyards/B&Bs to stay at, I am so glad we picked this one. The venue was beautiful, the room was nice and clean (with AC), and they had a gorgeous remote pool overlooking the vineyard. The people working were all incredibly kind and accommodating and went above and beyond to make our stay memorable, in addition to the owner. We enjoyed a wine tour/tasting and a cooking class, and had dinner at their restaurant that was one of our best meals in Italy. Our only...

"Staff very welcoming. Property very clean and beds very comfortable. Bathroom very nice. Only complaint are the walls between the rooms were thin and I could hear the adjoining rooms. But about 10:30 pm, everything went quiet and slept well. Plenty of parking on property. Great restaurant near by recommended by staff, “Il Grillo Moro”, definitely top notch. Would stay again."

They host guests since 1994! Truly a family owned business that cares for their guests!
Recommend to stay few days to fully enjoy the property with the pool and jacuzzi, slow living!"

"Very nice place. Good king size bed and wonderful sheets. Breakfast was really fresh too, with delicious pastries.
Awesome view in the valley, however we had an upgraded suite. AC was very welcome, it was 36C outside.
I would recommend this one to all my friends. Also location was great, very central and a lot of restaurants close by."

"La Ripolina, a family owned agriturismo, was more than we hoped for. Laura and daughters bring such heart and dedication to insuring their guests enjoy their stay. The food, the award winning wine and especially the cooking class has left us with treasured memories."

"An excellent location for enjoying a peaceful atmosphere, surrounded by true nature and spectacular views. I would certainly stay at this Agriturismo again when I return to Tuscany."

A stunning property. This was our favourite stay over a 4 week holiday and is a place to truly relax. We weren’t sure at time of booking if it was too far off the beaten track but booked it for the promise of a view, and it certainly did not disappoint. The view from the pool and breakfast area is truly spectacular, and whilst the location is away from the main tourist sites, it’s very peaceful and still well within reach of Siena, San Gimignano etc for a daytrip by car. Real care has been taken...

It's a wonderful hotel, we had a juinor suite which this time overlooked the other side of the hotel away from the road.
The spa was lovely we used it nearly every day and some days we had the indoor pools to ourselves.
The last time we where there was last year in October.
We had breakfast on the outdoor terrace which was really lovely.

We had a lovely experience in this traditionally styled hotel with wonderful scenery, great food and super service- the only downside was the lack of shade for our vehicle in the soaring temperatures.

Utterly incredible stay, beautiful building and beautiful surroundings, I became ill during my stay and the staff went above and beyond to help me. Every member of staff was so lovely and friendly. Would visit again in a heartbeat!

Excellent hotel, one of our favourites with Tuscany. Very warm and welcoming team, incredibly high standard restaurant. Amenities were wonderful, would highly recommend.

We were here for 3 nights but could have happily stayed for 3 weeks!!!
The host was wonderful, attentive yet discreet and a great communicator for both the practicalities of check in, and the finer details like restaurant recommendations and a wonderful local breakfast, we certainly ate well & Fabio was a wonderful host.
The room itself was also fabulous - really well thought out, everything you could possibly need, from a fridge and wine glasses to excellent aircon and a lovely bathroom. Well...

What a wonderful find. The hotel is just 4 rooms, beautifully and carefully designed with a lot of attention to detail. Rooms are large, fantastic powerful shower and amazing mattress! Best sleep I'd had in months!
Sara and Michele bought the historic building after years of experience in 5 start hotels, so you get 5 start care and attention in a beautifully designed boutique hotel. You can tell they love what they do and are passionate about making your stay as comfortable as possible....

First I was afraid because of the coments I´ve read about the street noise. But there is none at night. The hotel is really close to a small road. But it doesn´t bother at all. Nice and quiet place to stay and explore Tuscany. I loved the hotel, the breakfast, the restaurant near and the restaurant at the city. The hotel is close to a small city. From there, I went to Montepulciano, Montalcino, Pienza. 30 minutes by car for the first place.

The best area to stay in Scalvaia is directly within the village centre, as it offers the most convenient and authentic experience.
Scalvaia is a small, elevated village in Tuscany, known for its traditional stone buildings and peaceful setting. The village is compact and easily explored on foot, with its main activities revolving around the central piazza and the local church. You'll find a few small shops and a trattoria here, making it easy to access local produce and meals.
For couples seeking a romantic and quiet retreat, staying within Scalvaia itself is ideal. The village provides a sense of stepping back in time, with opportunities for gentle strolls through cobbled streets and enjoying the scenic views of the surrounding Tuscan countryside. It's a great base for relaxing and savoring the local culture.
Families will also find Scalvaia a good fit, particularly if they appreciate a calm environment away from crowds. Children can enjoy the freedom of a small, pedestrian-friendly village, and the surrounding natural landscape offers space for outdoor activities like walks.
When is the best time to go to Scalvaia?
The best time to go to Scalvaia, Tuscany, is during the spring (April to June) and autumn (September to October) months.
During spring, the countryside blossoms with wildflowers, and the weather is pleasantly mild, making it ideal for exploring the rolling hills and vineyards. You'll find comfortable temperatures great for outdoor activities like hiking or cycling without the intense heat of summer. It's also a wonderful time to enjoy the region's fresh produce and early harvest festivals.
Autumn brings cooler temperatures and the famous Tuscan grape harvest, or vendemmia. This period offers stunning landscapes as the leaves change colour, and it's an excellent time for truffle hunting excursions or wine-tasting tours. The weather remains agreeable for sightseeing, and you can experience the culinary traditions of the region at their peak.
While summer (July and August) is popular, it can be very hot, sometimes reaching uncomfortable temperatures for extensive outdoor exploration.
