The Space:

Five bedrooms sleep 12: three with queen beds (one also has a sofa bed), one with two twin beds, and one with a bunk bed — easy to sort out who sleeps where when you're traveling with kids or another family. Three full bathrooms mean no morning traffic jam. The kitchen is equipped for real cooking, with an oven, stove, dishwasher, microwave, blender, coffee maker, kettle, toaster, cookware, dishes and wine glasses, plus a dining table for the whole group. There's a washer and dryer, an indoor fireplace, a TV, board games for the evenings, and wireless internet with a laptop-friendly workspace. A crib and pack 'n play are here for the littlest guests. Outside: a large deck, a BBQ grill with utensils, a garden and backyard, and that warm outdoor shower. Garage parking included.



The Neighborhood:

334 13th Avenue puts you a short walk from the sand on Santa Cruz's east side — close enough to carry chairs and a cooler down and come back for lunch without moving the car. It's a quiet residential street rather than a resort strip, so mornings stay calm. The Boardwalk, the wharf, and the restaurants and coffee shops on 41st and Soquel are all a few minutes away.
