"In a quiet yet great location off the Rialto water bus stop this is a beautiful hotel. The staff are friendly and the room we had was more than perfect."

This hotel is amazing!!!! The refurbishment has been done so well, the location is perfect, it’s so peaceful but so close to everything. We felt so lucky to stay here.
Carlos is the bar was superb, I watched him make a drink for another guest and so much effort went into it, he was polite, engaging and attentive. Make sure you have a drink in the hotel bar or courtyard.
I also emailed the hotel before staying and Irene replied so quickly and in so much detail, I was really impressed.

Great location, friendly staff, personal attention, quirky comfortable room. Breakfast overlooking the Grand Canal and the Rialto Bridge was a big treat. I hope to visit again!

I have never written a review before, but my daughter and I fell in love with this hotel. Its location is fantastic, but it was the outstanding staff and level of service which stood out. Anyone looking for a beautiful hotel with a wonderful ambience within easy walking distance of all Venice’s sights doesn’t need to look any further! Great music playing too.

Lovely position on a quiet canal, canal view rooms available which we like to have. Superb location near Piazza San Marco. Rooftop bar lounge area has great views over the rooftops and lots of cover for shade from the Sun. Breakfast buffet is extensive and seems to get better every year, this was our 5th stay in this hotel.

Hotel, organised transfers to and from airport, incredibly efficient both instances,
Check in very fast, reception took us to our great room.
We asked for assistance with reservations and site seeing and the staff were always willing to assist
Excellent service in bar and cafe,
An expensive hotel, but you get what they advertise withiut exception,
Absolutely brilliant.
Pity more hotels were not like this

From the moment we arrived at The Gritti Palace we were treated like royalty. From the second you arrive at the canal entrance of the hotel you know it's going to be special. It's the most beautiful and imposing, gothic building with a private terrace perched on the canal which belongs on the Cote d'azure. Perfect for lunch and dinner, or just an afternoon drink. The staff are all incredibly helpful and knowledgable and nothing is too much trouble.

Hotel was in a nice quiet area but bars/restaurants in close proximity, historic landmarks nearby. Excellent communication before arrival, and the room was of good size with ensuite facilities, would thoroughly recommend this hotel.

Excellent stay. Great location beside St Marc's Square. Went to Vivaldi's Four Seasons and also an opera night. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay. A bath would have been nice, but the shower was fine and the room fully matched the description.
Pidgeons are becoming a bit of a problem in the square, but this can be the case anywhere and was no reflection on the hotel.

The staff are relaxed and nothing is too much trouble. The breakfasts are great with fantastic views. There are seating areas to relax if you want to chill out. I have stayed in venice many times and this is my second stay at M & G. It's definitely my favourite hotel.

This hotel is very easy to get to and from via water taxi or the Atvc boats. It is very centrally placed to be able to walk to most major tourist attractions also. There are several lovely restaurants in the immediate area which is essential as the hotel only serves breakfast. Each floor of the hotel has its own breakfast room, which is buffet style and is adequate although there was no fresh fruit available.

The room was clean, the bathroom was also very clean. We had a jacuzzi in the bath. Breakfast is either taken in your room, or at a nearby hotel. This took us slightly by surprise. On the first morning we had ordered breakfast and we were woken by a maid bringing in a trolley laden with food etc. The bed was comfortable, and you can come and go as you please. The staff were very pleasant.

Beautiful location in the Rialto area but tucked away through atmospheric alleys and next to a music academy. There was always live music drifting in the air as you walked to and from the hotel. Our suite was roomy with wonderful views of the canal - better than any television, I could sit and watch the boats all day. The original fittings and decoration were wonderful. The breakfasts excellent. The beautiful lounge had balconies for a spritz in the sun.
