A very well-run hotel.
service was excellent, the rooms were very clean and in good condition. The attention to detail in the rooms was a pleasant surprise. For a modest price, the little things such as good pillows and nice towels make a difference.
We stay at Lamplighter at least 1x per month when we’re visiting San Diego. The service is great, price is reasonable, and the pool is sparkly and warm.
The staff was very attentive and courteous, but the walls were very thin. I could hear the person in the next room talking and snoring.
The rooms are a nice size though.
Small hotel. Rooms are dated. No elevator. Only stairs which I did not realize and I have a bad knee. Rooms were not ready at check in time. Staff was great and did the best they could.
The staff at the front desk was extremely friendly and welcoming. The location to visit my daughter at SDSU was absolutely perfect. Lots of restaurants and facilities near by. The room keys didn’t work all the time but the front desk staff was great and helped out.
Room was clean. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was great. The one bummer was that the walls were thin and we could hear everything our neighbors were saying.
I was staying for 1 night and 2 days. I came a bit earlier than I planned and it wasn’t a problem I got my room earlier. It was great experience. I left totally satisfied.
Definitely will stay again here when I in San Diego
I love this property it was clean and I love the parking and the continental breakfast. The staff was polite and it is located near food, gas and grocery stores.
We booked 2 rooms which were at opposite ends of the hotel. Both were extremely musty smelling. Not sure how to get rid of that terrible smell but to remove the carpet and repaint. Staff were great though.
