Hotel Donna Rosa

10/10 Excellent

"Very warm and cosy environment."

Baia Taormina - CDSHotels

10/10 Excellent

"After needing to book at the Baia Taormina hotel due to a power outage from a storm at our original booking (a Beautiful Bed and Breakfast!) the Baia Taormina turned out to be a very pleasant experience after a very disappointing day. The staff was wonderful including breakfast servers, front desk, housekeeping and our good friends whom served us each night at their very beautiful bar. the 2 pools are very beautiful with a very nice poolside bar and excellent personnel to serve you. As most of the Italian coast (in My experience) The trek to what would be the hotel beach is quite a hike and storm damage from a recent Cyclone made bathing very difficult unless you are young and in really good shape ( The trail down to the beach is quite an experience). There is however a public beach approx. 500 Meters down the road with easy access and some accessible parking if you must get to a beach. Breakfast that was included with accommodation was nothing less than excellent. The lady covering the espresso coffee bar was amazing. Free parking with lots of room was very helpful. This was our last venue stay in Italy and other than the B&B we needed to leave due to the power issue, Baia Taormina had the best parking that we experienced on the Italian southern coast. Location approx 40 Euro cab ride to Taormina center and for a drive to Messina, Mt Etna, or even as far as Ortigia the location is wonderful. Hotel Baia Taormina is an easy choice!"

La Locandiera

10/10 Excellent

"Anyone looking at my review may think that I was lazy, just hitting five stars across the survey. Well, quite to the contrary! This is my second stay at La Lacandiera and as I will be 83 years old next year, good Lord willing, I will be back for a third year. Now, I get it that everyone has their own travel objectives and criteria! But for me, boots on the ground, real people experiences, and time smelling the flowers. I'm not a cruise ship kind of guy, so take that for what it's worth. Five stars 🌟 ✨️ 🌟"

Hotel Continental

We had Jr Suite sea view … room large, bed comfy and very clean!"

Frequently asked questions

What is the best area to stay in San Cono?

The best area to stay in San Cono is within the town centre itself, particularly around Piazza Umberto I.

The town centre is the heart of San Cono, offering a traditional Sicilian experience. It's built on a gentle hillside, with narrow, winding streets leading to the main square, Piazza Umberto I. Here, you'll find the impressive Mother Church of San Cono, the town hall, and several local shops, cafes, and eateries. It's a compact and walkable area, providing a genuine sense of local life.

For couples looking for a quiet and authentic Italian getaway, staying in the town centre is ideal. You'll be able to enjoy leisurely strolls, experience local traditions, and dine at family-run restaurants, all within easy reach. The slower pace of life here is superb for a relaxing escape.

Families with older children might also appreciate the town centre. It offers a chance to experience a different side of Sicily, away from the more tourist-heavy coastal areas.

When is the best time to go to San Cono?

The best time to visit San Cono is during the spring (April to June) and autumn (September to October) months.

Spring brings blooming wildflowers and lush green landscapes, while autumn offers comfortable temperatures and the grape harvest season.

For those planning to attend local festivals, late spring is particularly good. San Cono is known for its "Sagra del Fico d'India" (Prickly Pear Festival), which typically takes place in October, celebrating the region's famous fruit.
