"Room was basic but not unexpected. Shower was good if a little difficult to angle downwards. Breakfast was nice and enjoyed the overnight stay. Bed was good and pillows just right."

"A historic building very well situated in the main square. Room quite adequate . Minor issue with one of the bathroom taps but staff dealt with it. Reasonably priced car park behind the hotel."

"Very nice property. Our room was quite spacious. It is about a twenty minute, flat walk to the downtown Bayeux. We used this area as a good mid point to visit the D-Day Beaches, Honfleur , Mont St Michel etc."

Beautiful building and luxury rooms. Staff very polite and helpful. Ideal spot to stay for Normandy Beaches and Museums. Only 3 miles from Arromanch & D Day Landings.
We loved this hotel, breakfast was plentiful and delicious. We will definitely return as it’s such an ideal spot for visiting the sites.

We had a lovely stay. The owners were very nice and helpful and made an extra effort to provide me with gluten-free crepes at breakfast. The rest of the breakfast was also excellent. I would recommend it and will stay there again if I am in the area.

Wonderfully warm place. We were greeted late after a delay to our ferry by the owners with a lovely welcome (including from their gentle dog Hunter).
Shown to our fantastic room, pass some amazing photos and artefacts from D-day. Our room was great. A superb blend between a brand new modern bathroom and chic traditional French.

The hotel was a chateau which had been completely refurbished about a year ago. Restaurant was great as was the breakfast. However the room we chose was a de lux garden view room but was far from being a garden view it looked over the court yard. The manager did offer to change our room the second night but as we were only there 2 nights I declined but he did treat us to cocktails so no complaints. The bedrooms are large with a great walk in monsoon showers but the bed although king size was...

This was our second stay at the Churchill, and it was just as good as the first. Fabulous historic building, bedroom clean and cool (air conditioning!), friendly staff and a good breakfast.

Long weekend break to visit Normandy beaches and some of the military cemeteries.
Ideally placed, bags of character and not too expensive.
Helped by the weather which for the end of October was fantastic.

A beautifully maintained hotel with secure parking (great for motorbikes). The hotel is right in the middle of Bayeux and easy to find. There's no dinner restaurant at the hotel but there are many restaurants only a few minutes away.
Inside was spotlessly clean and well set out. My room was gorgeous. Lots of home comforts and very large.
The staff were great and breakfast was delicious. Can't find a fault.

We stayed here last week for four nights. Such a beautiful hotel in a really beautiful setting. The staff were wonderful, always happy and willing to speak English as our French isn't good!! The food is out of this world and I definitely recommend having at least one evening meal in their restaurant as it's a fantastic experience. Port en bessin is just down the road as is bayeux and both are worth visiting. Our rooms were fine, beds really comfy, we didn't need for anything. Will...

Nice older property a few minutes walk from the cathedral, tapestry and a good selection of restaurants and bars. Be aware no air conditioning and you have to pay to park in the driveway.

The best area to stay in Saint-Sulpice is right in the heart of the village, particularly near the church and main square.
This central part of Saint-Sulpice offers a pleasant and convenient base. You'll find a few local shops and eateries clustered around the Église Saint-Sulpice, which is a historic landmark. The streets here are generally quiet and well-maintained, providing a relaxing atmosphere.
Couples looking for a tranquil escape will find this area particularly appealing. The proximity to the local amenities means you can easily enjoy a leisurely breakfast at a local 'boulangerie' or an evening meal without having to venture far. It's also a good starting point for gentle walks through the surrounding countryside.
For families, staying in the village centre provides easy access to any essential services and a central point for exploring the wider Normandy region by car.
When is the best time to go to Saint-Sulpice?

Couples looking for a romantic getaway will find May, June, and September particularly appealing. The crowds are typically smaller than in the peak summer months, allowing for a more serene experience at attractions like the Bayeux Tapestry or the D-Day landing beaches. Many local restaurants are open, offering fresh seasonal produce.
Families travelling with children will appreciate July and August. While these months are the busiest, they offer the warmest weather, which is superb for beach days along the Normandy coast or exploring outdoor historical sites.
