"Great neighborhood, near the main train station, hopping with restaurants (and various hotels). Hotel is old (has regular keys that turn in a lock) but comfortable. Very good breakfast in a comfortable setting. Only drawbacks: You have to carry your luggage up a steep flight of about 15 steps, to the rooms. Also the reception/breakfast room is in the neighboring building so you have to go outdoors to get there (it was chilly and sometimes raining while we were there). Also you can't leave...
"The one thing we found that was slightly off-putting was that the photos on-line are designed to make the hotel look new, modern and spacious, when in fact it's a beautifully restored older building with smaller bedrooms, tiny elevators, and lovely winding staircases. There's enough modern hotels go around. Please brag about this lovely unique hotel on the waterfront of the Aussen-Alster See."
"90s decor but clean and comfy and a big room for 3 of us. Let us leave baggage all day which was a real bonus. Very close to train station. Would use again."
"There was a bit of a hiccup with our checkin, since they had no record of us having already paid. It was eventually straightened out, then they realized that we had overpaid and refunded our credit card. All was well. The room was comfortable, clean and had ample space. There does seem to be noise that carries through the walls and halls, but since we travel with earplugs, it was no problem. Bonus was the bidet in the bathroom."

5/5 Excellent
Great location and lovely spa.
"Convenient location opposite the train station. Three spas and lots of relaxation zones on different levels above the pool. The spa is from 7am till 10 or 11pm, so very helpful to those arriving late. Staff were very friendly and we enjoyed the piano playing in the bar. The room (double) was spacious. "
