"Hotel and room are good for one or two nice day. Balcony room had a nice view.. My only negative and caution is regarding the on-site restaurant. Although, in it by itself, it could be considered a decent restaurant, but considering all the really excellent restaurants around it’s quite subpar for this town. With a group of 11 persons that have been traveling in Italy for a week the l general consensus was that the restaurant was OK, but nothing memorable or exceptional. And that situations could be normally fine, but the problem is that eating the Cisterna restaurant results in missing out on an excellent meal at one of a dozen restaurants within five minute walk. In summary, a stay at the hotel is nice but I would avoid the restaurant unless you just need to fill your stomach quickly"

"The property is a 12 th century palace near the center of town and close to the city gate. It has been gradually renovated since the late 20th century with many aspects left intact from earlier days. The owner is very proud of her family's home, and she welcomes you into the shared living room and courtyard. We had the top floor w 4 bedrooms and bathrooms dated to an earlier elegant period. There were many steps to carry your luggage ( no elevators), but it was very exciting to stay in such an ancient palace. The staff was very accommodating. They helped arrange taxis to go to our truffle hunt that was recommended. Laundry means sending it out for a hefty price. There are no air conditioners, but there are fans and wide windows with working shutters overlooking the quaint streets, some with views of the countryside in the distance. With some imagination, It felt as if you were transported to an earlier time. The rooms were clean, beds were comfortable. There was an option for breakfast. We enjoyed our stay here"
