"I feel this hotel has just changed management. For the price we were charged it was very tired, carpet stains in corridors, buckets to catch leakes. The room was spacious but needed a deep clean. We were charged £10 for the car park. We had an evening meal that was presented and cooked well. My portion was very small. Breakfast was average. Staff were very kind and welcoming."

"I am a repeat customer at The Mitre. The hotel has a wonderful "old-world" charm to it, but they’ve balanced it perfectly with the modern amenities you actually need. What really stood out, though, was the hospitality. I managed to leave an item in my room after checking out and Sandra was an absolute lifesaver. Even though the hotel was buzzing with the Friday morning guests, she took the time to coordinate getting the item across the city to one of my colleagues, in rush hour during a tube strike. It’s rare to find a team that stays so calm and genuinely helpful when things get busy. It’s a beautiful, special property, and the level of care they show their guests is exactly why I’ll be booking here again. Highly recommended!"

"Good location, ample free parking, clean and tidy, good staff, nice rooms. Breakfast ok, but lacking in variety, no fried eggs, no mushrooms etc... but what was available was nice. Coffee poor, bitter in taste for my liking."

"The ensuite bathroom had a strong urine smell and I had to ask room service to pay special attention the next day. We generally had a great stay, the kids loved it. Check in was easy, breakfast was good. Some areas were run down and need refurbishing. Staff was great."

"Check in for this property was at the Crowne Plaza Hotel on the same street. I parked in their car park for 10 minutes to check in. For this I received a parking fine, which unbelievably has been upheld despite my providing the details of my reservation and their own record of my being in the car park for 10 minutes. This is a first for me, being fined by the hotel I am checking into. I was not asked to register my car at check in, no doubt because there was separate parking for the apartment that I was occupying. They spent time showing me where to park and at no time during the check in process was I asked for my car details. I’m astonished that a paying customer would be treated like this. There were some dirty clothes in the apartment from a previous occupant."

"Our triple adult room had no hot water. Reported to reception, promised 2 doubles but that night only given one, so one of our party had to stay in room with no hot water. Asked to speak to manager next day who moved us to an apartment for our last night with hot water.,"
