Badly damaged room, no views (Bushes in front) They mentioned Lakeview, if you need to jump up on a chair to see the lake then it shouldn't be Lakeview. The room has no air conditioning and very dated decor. We had a large gap in our wall with constant humming.

Dominic on the front desk,was very unwelcoming, unhelpful and made us feel stressed trying to get information. The description was a short stroll to town….true if you were a mountain goat. When we asked him about buses he said they wouldn’t stop and we could get a taxi. Also told about the road works at the front and if the noise gets too bad come and get earplugs! Apart from that…lovely spacious room, comfortable bed and clean

Comfortable accommodation and great beds. Staff were always helpful and very polite. Will be great once all the roadworks have been completed out the front - outside of Copthorne control of course. The weights in the gym facility were great. Treadmill and bike likely need servicing or updating as there was a bit of lag during use.

Spacious 2 bedroomed apartment with a lovely view over the lake. Dated decor, limited and unimpressive food offerings. Housekeeping was usually good but one morning a bed was left unmade, the towels weren't attended to properly and a rubbish bin wasn't emptied - not a big issue really. Roadworks right outside the building were a nuisance but not the hotel's fault.

We asked for a parking instruction map but denied, so we missed turning left at first attempt looking for car park and need to drive a long way to return back to hotel. Then scratched car chassis in acute u turn for parking at lower level.

Was disappointed that the restaurant was closed for dinner. I was travelling with my 90 year old aunt, so ended up eating in the bar. The buffet breakfast was nothing special, it was a bit on the cool side when we went for breakfast at 9am. I would not recommend this place for food. The staff were lovely and friendly but hospitality was not one of their strengths. We likened it to Fawlty Towers. On the plus side, the room was lovely.

Decent hotel, spoilt by noisy drain cover outside
Clean, comfortable room (especially bed), hotel is walkable to central Queenstown. However, in room 120 (furthest from reception on ground floor) we were next to entry/exit to car park which had a drain cover which clanked twice every time a vehicle went over it, all night! There was a surprising amount of traffic in and out and my wife hardly slept. Avoid rooms at this end of the corridor unless and until it's fixed.

Do not stay in this hotel! I booked so quickly for our NZ vacation without further investigating the reviews. Now I agree with the low ratings of this hotel - all are genuine, confirming my experience. These are the reasons you should never book and stay in this place. 1. False advertising: it is NOT a 4-star place; no air conditioning exists. They use windows to ventilate the hotel. The room smelled mildew, and my kids and husband sneezed all night. 2. It is not a lake-view hotel. The picture of the hotel makes it look like it is right next to the beautiful lake from the balcony. It is FALSE marketing. It is next to the busiest street in Queenstown, with the bus stop right in front of the hotel. 3. The hotel room is filthy, and amenities are old and broken: The carpet looked like it had not been vacuumed for months. Truly disgusting. The bedsheets were not changed, which made me feel itchy the whole night, that I could not sleep. The bathroom sink was yellowish, and the shelf in the shower was broken. The TV SET was not working correctly. On the balcony, there was a bunch of hair under the chair. 4. Noisy rooms and no one can sleep: all the rooms were designed to face the main road. So you can imagine the traffic noise on Frankton Road. They do not bother installing any A/C in the rooms. So, to get fresh air, we relied on opening the windows in the room. When first got into the room, we noticed streaks of feces still present in the toilet bowl. It appeared that the janitor didnot clean the toilet .

I don’t have any mobility problems but I realised that if you arrived by car and approached the hotel from the car park, which is below the building, you would not be able to get into the hotel, as there is no lift. Even for an able bodied person managing a suitcase up stairs and then down to reception was a nuisance. Quite impossible in a wheelchair.

Beautiful view, central spot of Queenstown. However, the current road work make it hard and confusing to access. The parking is very hard to find and better signage should be be consider. Breakfast buffet was “ok” and hotel restaurant menu is limited.

The vibes of an old ski lodge. Restaurant was shut after breakfast and the bar shuts around 9 or so. You have to book use of the hot tub but they don’t give you any information about the process, need to pick up a card from reception and drop it off when your are in a towel. Dated decor although the views from the hotel are amazing.

Our superior lake view room was right on street level with traffic and ongoing construction noise. The room and bathroom furniture is dated and looks worn, there was a chair missing on the terrace and due to that and the ongoing noise we weren’t able to enjoy the view at all. When I complained about the view and noise I was asked to pay $40 extra for a higher floor which I declined. Overall we weren’t satisfied with anything the hotel offered and the rating and description were misleading. I will not stay here again.

The rooms were clean and extremely comfortable beds. There front desk staff were exceptional and went above and beyond with any query. The access to the car pack was tricky and reception area and halls were very dated …imagine ‘The Shining’

Great Location, but Outdated and Limited Parking
I recently stayed at the hotel, whilst it had an excellent location, but unfortunately, it felt outdated. The decor, furniture, and amenities were in need of an upgrade. Additionally, the parking situation was frustrating as it operated on a first-come, first-served basis. While the staff was friendly, I would recommend considering other options if you value modern comforts and convenience.

We arrived at 2pm and the room was not ready. We were told upon check in that there were road works outside our room for the entire stay. There is no restaurant on site, only a bar which isn’t suitable for a young family, and is not open every night. The beds were very comfortable, which was the best past of the stay. Our room wasn’t serviced after our first night, I had to ask for a couple of new towels. All in all, we won’t be staying here again All in

We stayed for 1 night in the 2 bedroom apartment. Very clean and tidy with beautiful view of the lake. Staff was friendly. There was a road work at the time we stayed, however we're given a room at the back, away from the road so we couldn't hear the noise.

The room is spacious,clean and the Lakeview is awesome. Dominic is very accommodating and very helpful and all the staff. Except the construction site us blocking the beautiful hotel and also we were wondering why there’s no alarm clock😀

It was nice, clean and comfortable. Felt slightly expensive , but maybe that’s just Queenstown . A little tired and dated. Breakfast was nice , but 10 am was a bit of an early finish. Nothing wrong with it, but also nothing to rave about .

It is pretty run down for the price. We did not enjoy the buffet breakfast either. We had stayed in many properties in Queenstown and we do not feel that the standard justified the price charged.
