Gave us a lower package than what we paid for.

When we arrived at the hotel we noticed that the documents they gave us said Silver Package when our Expedia confirmation clearly stated Gold Package. When we arrived to our room the safe we paid for didn’t work, there were no towels in the bathroom, the phone didn’t work, and to top it all off the beds stunk. We demanded they change our room and asked that we were given the correct package. The woman at the front desk very arrogantly told us the Expedia confirmation we had had an error. I was livid. The only reason why we didn’t leave was because we were celebrating our 38th wedding anniversary. They did end up changing our room to one that had better standards but I feel we shouldn’t have had to go through so much.

Pros: We are very pleased with everything and that shows why we have returned many times to Blue Bay.
Cons: We had a leak in our bathroom ceiling during the last two days of our two week stay. It was not repaired while we were there.
Location: The location is very nice. Located in a bay and only 15 minutes from the airport.
We always enjoy our stay at Blue Bay and have been there for more than 10 years. The staff is very friendly and we always feel welcome there. The food is very good. The rooms are cleaned every day and the beds were made up very nicely. We hope that we will be able to go there for a few more years. Most of the time we take some friends with us and they always are very pleased. Many of them have returned often. Thank you Blue Bay.

This was my 3th time in the hotel now.when I like to relax and enjoy the day with my wife this is the place that I prefer

pleasurable stay

Pros: the nightly entertainment
Cons: training to ensure that all bartenders make the drinks the same way
Location: the resort is in a village with other resorts. "Puerto plata village" they are developing a mall nearby. They exchange at a much lower rate.
pools were clean, beach was amazing. drinks were a 5-7 out of 10 depending on who made it. all hotel staff was amazing and accommodating. the food was good, make sure you get to breakfast nice and early because after about 830 things are cold and coffee doesn't taste fresh. the nightly entertainment is one of the best things about to hotel and you immediately see why this is adults only. all in all we enjoyed our stay. the shower heads could be better I feel like only two drops were coming out at a time although I understand it is probably in efforts to save water. you must pay extra for the wifi and safe which was not cool luckily we rented out a hotspot from our car rental. all in all it was a great experience and I would definitely go back.

Horrible customer service.

Pros: The proximity to the beach was good. Also they made a great mojito. The lobby is also nice. Some of the staff is accommodating.

This hotel has the worst customer service. Went to check in and was made to wait almost 3 hours for a room because they were trying to scam us into paying more money and would not honor Expedia confirmation when we got there. I had to call Expedia and the hotel finally "found" the reservation after I was on the phone with Expedia customer service for almost 30 minutes paying long distance call on my cellphone plan. They made copies of our ID and finally checked us in 3 hours later. Some of the staff we encountered were OK, but overall the reservation staff is very unprofessional. They kept telling us the mix-up wasn't their fault and blamed it on Expedia even after it was corrected. After we checked out the next day and were already in another resort, the hotel called me a day after to say they had misplaced the pictures of the ID and if we can send them it to them through Whatsapp. I will never book at this hotel again.

Great staff and enterteniment

The hotel is in a great location. Close to the beach that was actually one of the highlights of the trip. The food was average though some of the a la carte restaurants were a pleasant surprise. Don't expect too much flavor however, you will have things to eat if u dont have very high expectations. The hotel is in need of a serious face lift!! Very old and some rooms are very dirty. The night we arrived ( late in the evenin) we were put in a room that was far beyond standards ..leaky AC, cobwebs and some very questionable stains on the pillows alongside tons of foreign hair on the bed. Lets not forget the moldy smell.We had our room changed the day which made the trip more comfortable however far from what a resort of this caliber should offer. Beautiful lounge areas great pools and amazing people ...the animation team made our stay varied and exciting. Be aware of the time share " orientation" two hours I will never get back. Side note You have to do snorkeling on the catamaran!!! Overall it was fun as I was in great company and didn't need any deluxe room or gourmet food. I will only go again to this resort and recommended to a friend when those renovations are done.

The staff was amazing but the rooms was no where near to the room that was advertised. It was very small and it was like something from 1980. In my opinion, the hotel was outdated.

it is close to the beach

Staff is very hard working and always ready to assist. this is my second time at the hotel. the food is average. it is important to reserve your seat at the special restaurant asian restaurant , but at the regular restaurant the food is just average. the environment is nice. if you need wifi , there is plaza close to the hotel to pay for access . it is cheap. do not buy access to wifi inside the hotel . .very expensive . there is access to play golf. I had a nice stay

Needs room update

Bathroom is very small, fit one person. Rooms looked better online. There is a charge for room service, not listed online. The food is ok but not much to choose from. Also, I was taken to a presentation without my consent. The lady said to me that she was going to show me the services that the resort offered, she made me waist half day out of the three days I was there. I am very, very disappointed in this resort and in this website for selling things that are far from being true.
