"We had a great experience at the Savoy, its beautiful and staff was very friendly and helpful. Most importantly, its location is perfect, easy to explore surrounding attractions. Breakfast was excellent, with great variety. Staff were super good. Will definitely recommend it highly."

"I can’t rave enough about this hotel!! Parking included, fantastic and knowledgeable staff, unbelievable brunch/breakfast and the room was just outstanding. Reception was so patient with all my questions. Female staff really spent time with me and gave me the best advice. I really wish I remembered her name but she is exceptionally good at her role. I do wish there was a bottle opener in the room instead of having to get it from the front desk but that’s a small suggestion. "

"Fantastic stay "

"My wife and I stayed for 5 nights. The owner/manager, Daniel, was really great with communication pre/during our stay, which we appreciated. We stayed in the triple room, which had a great view but small balcony, and the room overall was small but enough space to crash at the end of a long day. Location is great, but be prepared to hear bass music until early morning hours on the weekends from nearby clubs. It’s very close to downtown, less than 5 min walk from the main downtown area, but far enough away that you can escape the tourists for a bit. We are vegan/gluten free, so we couldn’t do breakfast that was offered. There’s a kitchen and a fridge if you want to buy your own groceries. Coffee is self serve and cost 0,50€. Lots of stairs, but we’re able bodied so it wasn’t too bad. Overall, great experience for the price. Would book again. "

"The breakfast was over the top and enough food to hold you till dinner. The staff was knowledgeable and helpful. The view from our room superb! "

"Pillows were bad! Bumpy and piling inside and pillow case was broken. Bedsheets are loosely prepared so they all come undone when you get into the bed. Breakfast was average, location was good and walkable. Cleanliness in bathroom could be improved. Staff were quiet nice. "

"Simple, but clean and comfortable apartment perfect as a base for our stay. Especially appreciated the washing machine and the host even provided a couple of detergent capsules, so we were able to wash our clothes after a muddy hike. Good location, close to the centre of Funchal, but bear in mind there's a steep hill to climb up - though taxies from the centre will cost you about 4 euros. The only issue was not getting the actual address any check-in instructions before our arrival and having to call the host on our late in the evening after we arrived. It took few calls before her daughter got in touch and provided the access information, but from there it was smooth, so overall a good experience."

"Lovely breakfast menu. Same as with usual visits but with the addition of omlette station and improved toasters as well as make your own coffee machines. Our room had a view, both of the pool abd sae, including harbour. Nice new sun loungers and parasols. Plenty of choice i=on cocktail menu. Cocktails really well made. Lovely gourmet dinner menus"
