Absolutely loved this place from the moment we stepped through the front door . Pristine , homely , and tastefully furnished.Jim is a perfect innkeeper , extremely informative but in no way intrusive plus his breakfasts are out of this world . One of the unique aspects of the inn is that there are snacks , fresh fruit and home baked goodies available in the afternoon/evening . We both enjoyed sitting around the table with other guests at breakfast , it was a wonderful start to the day and...

An amazing boutique hotel in a quiet part of Portland but still very close to everywhere (waking distance).
A super-friendly and informative ’inn-keeper’ met us and gave us some great recommendations as well as providing an excellent cooked breakfast the next morning.

Staff were friendly and helpful. Stayed one night (2 kids - 2 queens). Very comfy bed, generous checkout time at midday and flexible valet as we collected our car at 2:30pm after exploring Portland and heading onto our next pit stop. Very clean and had everything we needed. Had we stayed longer we’d have checked out the pool.

Super friendly inn, owner was lovely and helpful and made us feel so welcome. Inn was quaint and lovely and great location for a short stroll into town. Breakfast was really good as was the cake laid out for guests to tuck into throughout the day, maybe with a cup of coffee in the lounge. Recommend a stay at Candlebay whilst in Freeport anytime.

Quite simply one of the loveliest, friendliest hotels I've stayed in for a while - helped by being in the most beautiful of cities. Friendly staff, great decor, spaces to read and work and good food. Room was lovely and spacious.
