"Absolutely perfect B&B for what we needed beautifully modern inside but cleverly decorates with just enough local Scottish seaside flavour. The room was small but the clever way it was put together made it feel cozy rather than cramped. The bathroom was modern and beautifully appointed and immaculately clean (very important on a 2 week road trip around the UK) There is a well equipped CoOp very close and the Killmarnock Arms hotel is a very short walk away. Excellent food (bring your appetite the servings are huge), lovely staff and a very nice atmosphere in the restaurant. It is a perfect spot to base yourself if you want a small seaside village feel because it is only a relatively short drive to Banff and other picturesque seaside historic villages like Cullen, If it is sunny, (the stunning village location for the 1983 classic 'Local Hero' (still an enormously enjoyable movie that gets 99% on Rotten Tomatoes even today) https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pennan is a must see via a winding drive on a classic narrow country road through absolutely beautiful countryside! Pennan will stun you as it is a strip of colourful historic cottages, tucked up against a towering cliff face, a stunning bay and at the end of the breakwater a charming coffee 'hut' with a delightful owner to chat to in season. We enjoyed this B&B so much we extended our stay. Breakfast is continental style and self serve but we are not really breakfast people so that didn't bother us. Beautiful!!!"

"For the rate I paid I couldn’t have asked for much more. Bathroom was nicely decorated and very clean with free shampoo, shower gel and soap. The bedroom had a sofa, a dressing table and large tv. There was tea and coffee along with a kettle & a hairdryer, the bed had clean sheets and was comfortable. If you are looking for accommodation on the north side of the city, this place ticks all the boxes. Some previous reviews mentioned the lift being unclean but that wasn’t the case during my stay. The corridor to the room was also tidy and fresh smelling."

"Parking wasn’t great you had pay to staying considering it’s not like it’s near a shopping area , we parked with blue badge in the disabled area the lift was not available to use from that area at all ,it seems always like it so pointless having blue badge area without having the right access to reception, using the stairs was difficult hard going , only once you found reception did see another carpark , should have proper signs displayed, Bedroom window is broken and big gap for cold wind coming in room has no proper heating either rusty plug in heater , rooms cleaned to high standard, but only one towel per person provided and one pillow each on beds that’s poor at least should have two , outside the hotel needs some attention and should be no smoking standing at front doors it’s disgusting and thst including staff too Apart from thst we where happy the price and size of rooms just need few details sorting and painting,"

"Staff were excellent. Room very clean. 5 minute walk to the beautiful Cruden beach. 10 minute walk to the historic Slane castle. I cannot fault the accommodation or surrounding area."
