This property is absolutely beautiful. The breakfast buffet was amazing with so many choices. My favorite was the homemade yogurt with toppings and fresh fruit. The gardens were well maintained and the amenities were lovely. Our room was spacious and clean and the personalized service was perfect for an anniversary trip!
Overall a very nice hotel. The restaurant and breakfast were well above average. Staff was extremely pleasant, helpful and accommodating.
A big issue for us was the bathroom. The shower walls were made of wood which were molding all around the bottom due to moisture, this was not something I would expect from a hotel of this caliber. There was very little storage space in the bathroom for toiletries, and the toiletries provided were insufficient and were never replenished.
The pool area was lovely as was the hot soaking tub. We did not have a chance to experience the spa.
We have stayed here 4x now and always have a wonderful stay. The property is beautiful, the natural products they stock are lovely, and the restaurant is good. Staff is friendly. I definitely
The only small inconvenience is that the kids club is not always open (it was closed 2 of the times we stayed). I travel alone with my kid so I always put a message about it in the booking notes. I wasn’t told it would be closed / could not go to the spa because the kids club was not open. I realize that’s a rather unique circumstance and it doesn’t reflect badly on the property, but if you plan on using the kids club, I would get in touch well in advance to confirm it will be open when you plan on using it.
Really great stay! Clean and vibey rooms, perfect for a romantic getaway. The staff were all very professional and friendly, plus the complimentary breakfast had great food.
Very nice boutique hotel, friendly staff, beautiful SPA and plunge pool.

The breakfasts were so delicious and the rooms were spacious. The host was also great and we felt well cared for. They had a library of DVDs which was a great for a cozy night at home after a long day of skiing. We all want to return !
This is a beautiful hotel, and we enjoyed our stay here for the most part. The staff were very helpful and polite. The decor and atmosphere were lovely, and I wish I had spent more time just relaxing at the hotel/pool/spa, but the island has so many beautiful places to see too! It was very quiet as it was on the outskirts on Ponta Delgada, which was great for sleeping. However, it is about a 10 minute taxi or Bolt/Uber ride to the "downtown" area or a 45 minute walk. Bolt/Uber were often a bit of a wait since there was not a lot of traffic or amenities near the hotel. The nearest supermarket was about a 15 minute walk, which is doable, but I found myself wishing for small shop or cafe to grab things more than once.
The breakfasts were also quite good, however, I would suggest paying closer attention to making sure the lid on the eggs/bacon/vegetables stays closed. Other guests would leave it wide open for the food to get cold, so arriving at the wrong time for breakfast meant a less enjoyable meal. They do offer other eggs to be freshly made in the kitchen though.
Our room offered nice locally made bars of soap and shampoo. I liked these for a few days, but didn't find the shampoo bar worked that well on my thick hair after a couple days. I liked our room, but I will say the bed sheets were not great. Maybe they a poly blend and didn't breath. Minor inconveniences overall.
A lovely, relaxing retreat. The spa, pool and grounds were inviting and beautiful. The rooms were clean, modern and stylish. The hotel is beautifully designed, with a great breakfast and terrific dining options (loved the sushi restaurant and local cuisine). The staff were very helpful and made the stay comfortable and welcoming.
The staff was amazing, always friendly and helpful! Beds were extremely comfortable, loved the little touches like homemade soaps. Also, the breakfast buffet was amazing!!
This hotel was a bit odd. The main parts of the hotel and the outside areas (pool, spa, garden, etc) were quite nice. The pineapple greenhouse with the hottub was a bit sketchy, but we enjoyed a soak after a big hike one day. Room and bathroom not as expected from photos, a bit run down but servicable. Because it is a "nature" hotel there were odd bar shampoos and lotions (which left me wishing I had brought my own) and if you wanted a new pool towel it was 5 euros...but the robes were nice and they left a welcome gift in our room to recognized a special occaision, which was lovely of them. The place felt understaffed...one poor bartender serving all of the bar, dining room and the outdoor pool area (which was a hike for him), and one waitress managing the whole restaurant at dinner and breakfast. Food was pretty good at magma and in the bar. We were disappointed that the front desk staff rarely said hello as we passed by or as we were coming and going throughout the day. For a smallish hotel, it was inpersonal. We were expecting more for the price honestly...overall has a lot of potential but was just OK.
This was our first hotel on the island, and our favorite! The hotel is just the perfect oasis, a small boutique hotel with infinity pool, hot tub inside a pineapple greenhouse, two restaurants, and a rooftop bar. Very accommodating for children, will definitely stay again when we come back!
We loved our 2-night stay! The rooms and property were beautiful! We felt very spoiled by the home made toiletries, the spa facilities and the kind staff. We had the family room - there was tons of space to spread out and enjoy time together.
