"Ok but a bit tired and scruffy. Showers at the spa not working. Lockers not working. Leaking plumbing. Cold swimming pool. Steam room not working. "

"The reception team were welcoming; as soon as we got to our room the door didn't lock properly, for security purposes we were able to move. The rooms are spacious and basic however I didn't get much sleep. The pillows were lumpy and thin, we both had issues with them. The bed linen was torn and bed rest was stained so I cleaned it myself and overall it was very meh and missing a simple once-over a room needs. We had an issue two mornings in a row with loud noise (sounded like stomping or something loud moving back and forth over the bedroom area starting around 5-6am). First evening, didn't seem like the receptionist wanted to do much about it, second morning we contacted reception but it continued and reception didn't respond, resulting in us leaving earlier than expected. It's not the best roomzzz I've stayed at especially as the last made a little effort for my partner's birthday trip and this one being mine, there wasn't anything special but it's worth a try based on the location and parking only. Overall unfortunately, I'd never stay here again or recommend it."

"The ibis hotel in York was in a good location, within walking distance to everything. The hotel was very quiet and the rooms were nicely updated and well kept. The staff at the front desk were great and very helpful. I didn't us the breakfast so cannot comment on that. "

"The room was clean and spacious, we really liked it. I would suggest adding hotel room basics like a toilet brush or tissue box. We had an issue with the AC for the whole building being right outside our room and being extremely noisy, thus preventing us from sleeping the first night. We flagged it to staff, who was very friendly and accommodating, changing our room for the second night although the hotel was fully booked. Apart from this AC issue, the stay was lovely and the location of the hotel was good too."
