"Check in was easy and location was good, thise are the only positives. The property is extremely dated and dirty. The furnishings in communal areas were torn, threadbare, stained, dirty and smelly. "A great place to stay for us as a stop over on the way to France via the tunnel (20 mins drive).Really comfortable beds, very clean, newly renovated, with a small sitting room and two beds with 2 bathrooms. Just what we were looking for and they let dogs stay. We usually stay in a Premier Inn but this was far better value, plus the pub downstairs was excellent. Good choice of beer, great food and perfect hospitality - what more could you ask for?? Fully recommended!"

"The main house, gardens and grounds were excellent and well maintained. Our room in the Mews was very large with french windows opening on to a shared patio, essential in this heat. There was no air conditioning, or fan and our phone in the room did not work. We were supplied with a faulty portable fan, but in the end the open doors provided enough cooling air. The shower was superb with enough hot water whenever we needed it. We could have done with a table and chairs to sit and organise paperwork etc. Breakfast was good with a cold continental buffet and a hot cooked selection as extra. On the second morning they were short staffed and we were given a refund on our breakfast for the delay. The dining room in the house was lovely with exposed stone and wooden timbered ceiling and great views of the garden. In the evening we ate at the Spa which was very good with excellent service. The spa facilities were well maintained and we enjoyed the outdoor pool in the garden and the outdoor spa."

"Great location, excellent staff, and very clean throughout. I also appreciated the secure luggage storage before check-in and after check-out, which allowed us to make the most of our time in Folkestone. The only minor downside was the lack of a fridge in the Room Cosy Small, although larger rooms may have one and air conditioning would have been a welcome bonus, but it didn't affect our stay and everything was fine. Overall, the stay exceeded my expectations and I would happily return."
