This historic hamlet on the River Orwell charms visitors with its weathered wooden sailing barges and the famous Butt & Oyster pub. Hike the surrounding Suffolk Coast Path or time your visit for the annual barge match when traditional vessels race past Pin Mill's shoreline.
The welcome could not have been friendlier, really lovely people. The station house building is a little 'creaky' but it's full of character and well appointed; it was really nice seeing the trains come and go and they did not disturb us at all. The view from the window was lovely with the sun rising over the river Deben, looking up to the ancient hills of Sutton Hoo. Breakfast was great! Full English (vegetarian), with loads of coffee and plenty of smiles.

Considering the age of the property, dating from 1456, the rooms were beautifully modernised whilst keeping the original features. All the staff were very friendly and helpful, the food was excellent and I honestly can’t fault anything. The only negative was the heat but nothing anyone could do about that!!!
