The room had an A/C unit and this was the heater too. There was a communal kitchen free to use which had coffee machine and hot water for making a tea and there was a fridge in there. The rooms are on the third floor and the rear of the property overlooks the old amphitheater which is now a square with a few restaurants. There are a number of shops and other places to eat within a very short walk. The bus station was a comfortable 15 min walk and the train station is around 20mins. It was also only 10mins walk to get to the city walls for a walk around over the city. The property is very centrally located and the host was very pleasant and very welcoming including messaging us beforehand to make arrangements. A great 1 night stay in a fabulous small walled city and lovely accommodation. We were met at a piazza near the apartment by Isabella and escorted to the property. She helped us bring our luggage up the stairs and showed us how everything worked. The apartment is located near the wall that encircles the city center and it was delightful to stroll along the top of the wall in the evening. It is also close to coffee and wine bars and especially, great restaurants. Gianluca is a wonderful host and did everything to make our stay an exceptional experience. We had planned to stay at Apartment Via Fillungo several years ago but we had to cancel because of Covid. We are so pleased to finally come to Lucca and stay with Gianluca."
