"We arrived to find that the Inn was under extensive renovation. Terrible fumes from paint and stain when we arrived in the bar to check in. We were shown to a room, up a set of stairs with carpet pulled up and screws littered on the steps. The window was open to the construction site. Freezing cold and no heat. Not to mention that the bathroom blinds were on the floor and the wooden door had almost been chewed and scratched through by an animal. We went back down to the bar to say that we couldn’t stay under the conditions and found out that we were the only booking. We were told to contact Expedia to get our full refund. Expedia wouldn’t refund the first night which is terrible given the conditions. It has made us think twice about using Expedia again. If you have a booking for 2026 do yourself a favour and call the inn to see if the renovations are complete before turning up."
