Bedbugs! At about 10pm the evening I checked in, as I was sitting on the bed and using my laptop, I noticed something in the corner of my eye on top the bedspread. I looked around and saw a bug. Took several pics and looked it up on Google, and sure enough....bedbug. As I was getting dressed to go to the lobby desk, a 2nd bug presented itself on top the bed. I went to the front desk, showed them the pics and they acknowledged they were bedbugs and gave me key cards to another room about 40 feet down the hall from the original (#125). Any other time I would have packed, checked out without paying and found another place. There is no excuse these days for a hotel not to have a stringent pest prevention program, with all we know about this problem now. Unfortunately, given the hour, the remote location there, no car available and a 6am flight the next morning from the airport across the street, I had no options other than take the replacement room, though I doubt if simply moving down the hall eliminated my risk of being exposed during the night. I have known colleagues who have returned from business trips with dozens & dozens of red, raised welts all over their backs, legs, arms & torsos from these bugs’ bites during the night. I kept the lights on and didn’t sleep the entire night. Not a good stay.
