"The cottage is a bit tired but well equiped, clean and comfortable. The instructions to find the key were terrible! it says get them from a key safe padlocked to the front railings at the front of the house and they were at the back, attached to the house. Google maps cannot find the address so we followed the instructions given. It mentions a car show room that it is not there anymore (a convenient Tesco instead). "We stayed at Waterland Farm as a family of 9 (plus 1 dog) for a long weekend break and it was brilliant. The house is very spacious with lots of facilities, including a toy room for the kids, a PS /x-box and old-school vinyl record player. The outdoor area is massive and the kids loved the football goal and playground. As it states the field isn’t secure for a dog as there are open areas but she still enjoyed a run around. Overall a great place to stay and we would return! "

Durrant House Hotel

10/10 Excellent

"We stayed six nights and enjoyed it immensely. There is a real homely feeling to the hotel. There were a few niggles but you get them wherever you go. The staff were polite, friendly and most attentive. The bar and restaurant were more than satisfactory and the heated outdoor pool was a brilliant addition. We will definitely be going back especially since my partners friend is residing in Bideford now and we will happily reserve a room at Durant House Hotel whenever we visit."

Westbeach Holiday Apartments

"These apartments are brilliant if you are travelling with children, as we were. Lovely and spacious, with a dishwasher and coffee (ground) machine. Great oven and microwave, fridge freezer working well. Kitchen prep area was a good size, too. Bathroom was very clean and well finished, although the mirror wasn't lit. We couldn't get the living room TV to work, but we didn't contact the host, so this is not a complaint as I'm sure it would've been sorted. The TV in the bedroom was fine but we were unable to log out of someone else's Netflix. The balcony space and dining area were roomy enough for 5 of us. The communal areas look a bit scary and unkempt but inside the apartment is completely different. The lift is temperamental and didn't work on our last day. There is ample, unallocated parking. It could be signposted a bit better, but the directions in the email are good. There was a side view of the beach from our apartment, and some very loud seagulls! Also to note there is a children's play area outside with a squeaky swing - this may haunt your dreams if you've got the windows open! You may hear music from the square or nearby venues, but they all seemed to finish at a reasonable time. Overall a pleasant stay which suited our family well and was great value for money."

"I don’t usually write reviews, but this was one of the best run hotels I have ever stayed in. If anyone wants to see how a b&b should be run, then book this hotel. Sue and her husband were lovely, the hotel was immaculately clean, and breakfast was superb. It was a pleasure to stay there, and I would definitely recommend. Well done Sue, I wish every b&b was like yours."

"I thought the rooms were amazing for the price, the AC was a god send and the pressure in the shower was great. I was extremely happy with the rooms and would gladly visit again. The course was amazing, really well kept and the staff were really polite and friendly. The only gripe that we had is that the time waiting to order and for the food to come wasn’t very good. We ate at Trethorne all three nights and it was the same every night. We even had to approach the bar to order our food on the second night. Larger tables were asked if their food was ok 2 or 3 times but we barely got a look from the waiter/waitresses."

"A beautifully clean and welcoming hotel on the beach in Croyde. It’s safe, fantastic amenities and there is something for everyone. The staff are extremely polite, knowledgeable and friendly. It’s hard to find accommodation these days where there is nothing to fault - Outstanding! A perfect little get away."

"Welcoming hotel with helpful staff. Lovely old country house, very comfortable bed in delightful upper room with incredible views. Some tired and old decor in breakfast room but other areas well maintained and clean. Disappointed not to have had a shower in the bathroom, only a bath and had to ask for more shower gel and soap as it was not replaced."
