Quiet, away from roads and a gentle 20 minute wooded walk into the Haven. Just what we wanted. ##### Sarah S. Stayed 4 nights in Oct 2017 ### 10/10 Excellent #### Tom H. 11 Aug 2020 Liked: Cleanliness, check-in, communication, location, listing accuracy #### Lovely little find... Our usual summer holiday was cancelled due to Covid, so booked this 6 weeks beforehand with no real expectations other than getting away and having a change of scenery. Turned out to be a fantastic decision. Close to lots of different beaches, kids loved jumping in the waves/body boarding, etc. some lovely villages very close by (Boscastle, Tintagel, Port Isaac), everything you need supermarket wise in Bude, lovely walk down to the local beach a few times (could be a bit of a slog for younger kids carrying all your beach gear), nice little veranda to sit outside at night and have a glass of wine...just amazing, totally sold, wish we could have stayed another week. Ben super friendly too. ##### Tom H. Well equipped, beautiful view, fantastic location. We had a fantastic week and our children especially loved playing in the stream. We will be back! ##### Verified traveller Stayed 7 nights in Aug 2019 ### 10/10 Excellent #### Christine H. 17 Sept 2019 Liked: Cleanliness, check-in, communication, location, listing accuracy #### Great location and helpful owners Such a good location for exploring this area of Cornwall. A pleasant walk to the beach and pub (very good food). We were welcomed with a cream tea with freshly cooked scones. The owners are happy to help with anything that is needed. We thoroughly recommend these cottages - and hope to return. ##### Christine H. ### 10/10 Excellent #### Rachael T. 10 Sept 2019 Liked: Cleanliness, check-in, communication, location, listing accuracy #### Beautiful location We had a lovely time at Mineshop. The cottages are in a beautifully quiet location yet just a 30 stroll through picturesque walking paths to the beach at Crackington Haven. Would defiantly love to stay here again. ##### Rachael T. Stayed 7 nights in Sep 2019 ### 10/10 Excellent #### Daryl S. 31 Aug 2019 Liked: Cleanliness, check-in, communication, location, listing accuracy #### Parada cottage Great location to explore the surrounding north Cornwall coast. Accommodation was perfect for a family of 4 with a well stocked kitchen and the property is well maintained by the owners. Pack your wellies to enjoy the many walks by the river and surrounding areas. ##### Daryl S. Stayed 7 nights in Aug 2019 ### 10/10 Excellent #### Lucy R. 13 Aug 2019 Liked: Cleanliness, check-in, communication, location, listing accuracy #### Mineshop in Crackington Haven We had a wonderful stay at Mineshop. The location is perfect - a beautiful, relaxing valley with rolling fields and a stream running through, just a stroll from Crackington Haven, which is a great little corner away from the crowds. The cottage was cosy, spotless and thoughtfully equipped. Jess and Ben couldn´t have been friendlier or more helpful. Strongly recommended for a family holiday or break in the countryside. Thank you for everything. ##### Lucy R. ### 10/10 Excellent #### peter F. 6 Nov 2018 #### Lovely secluded and quiet spot. Cosy and comfortable cottage. Really enjoyed our holiday. Property was small but well designed and, though one of row of five, was masked from the others by trees etc so felt secluded and private. Excellent for dog owners like us with woods and fields adjacent. As the bedrooms are small and the double has no space for a wardrobe, perhaps a hook or two behind the door would be helpful. Likewise in the bathroom. Phone signal and internet was dodgy but we were in a valley so only to be expected. However, we thoroughly enjoyed our holiday, and the cream tea on arrival was a nice added bonus! We’ll certainly go again. ##### peter F. Stayed 7 nights in Oct 2018 ### 10/10 Excellent #### Peter H. 15 Oct 2018 #### 10 wonderful days The cottage was wonderful. I'm sure that this visit was not the last one. ##### Peter H. Stayed 11 nights in Sep 2018 ### 8/10 Good #### Alice P., England 28 Sept 2018 #### Lovely Very enjoyable stay in this charming rural idyll a walking distance to the beach and stunning coastal path. Ben could not have been more helpful - very kindly advising me on all the best beaches for swimming and waving away a glass I had accidentally broken (where other places would probably charge). A friendly, yet unobtrusive atmosphere. Would definitely recommend as a base for anyone wanting to explore this beautiful part of the country. ##### Alice P. Stayed 10 nights in Sep 2018 ### 6/10 Okay #### Peter A. 18 Sept 2018 #### Great location We had a lovely break in this peaceful location.. It was difficult to find in the dark and instructions to find were a little misleading.. They have an intermittent WiFi which cannot support even browsing weather sometimes which is frustrating since we neede to keep in contact with our kids whilst away and there is zero phone signal for many networks.. ##### Peter A. Stayed 7 nights in Aug 2018 ### 10/10 Excellent #### Verified traveller 17 Sept 2018 #### Wonderful week We all had a wonderful stay and everyone was so friendly and helpful. Very nice location with plenty of areas to stretch your legs, walking through the woods and meadows. The beach is a short car drive away, you can also walk to the beach if feeling energetic. The cottage had everything you would need for the family ##### Verified traveller Stayed 7 nights in Aug 2018 ### 8/10 Good #### mary b. 9 Aug 2018 #### Mineshop Nice and quite very relaxing, pleasant walk to beach, good central location, however lack of hanging space for 4 people idea for 2 people no wardrobe in double bedroom ##### mary b. Stayed 6 nights in Jul 2018 ### 10/10 Excellent #### Matt P. 22 Jun 2018 #### Very cute, not flashy, comfy & very clean A perfect little base to explore the cornish coastline. 8 ish miles from Bude, 35 from Padstow & 38 from Newquay. ##### Matt P. Stayed 4 nights in Jun 2018 ### 10/10 Excellent #### Andrew n. 28 May 2018 #### Fantastic place would recommend it to all my friends and family Great location the scones and cream were a great treat, fantastic base for exploring Cornwall, exactly as it said on the site will definitely be back ##### Andrew n. The cottage was well equipped, right down to the corkscrew! The beds were really comfortable and the cream tea waiting for us on arrival very welcome after the drive down. The location is absolutely fabulous, my grandson Ben loved going to the stream with his fishing net, and Hetty the chocolate Labrador was in heaven running in the field. We visited Padstow, Tintagel, Boscastle, Port Isaac and Widemouth Bay, all easy to get to but our favourite was the beach at Crackington Haven. As it was October dogs were allowed on the beach so the dog and the boys were in their element. I thoroughly recommend Mineshop Cottages and look forward to visiting again. ##### Lyn Y. Stayed 7 nights in Oct 2017 This review was submitted before 2018 and has not been verified. ### 10/10 Excellent #### Gary H. 31 Jul 2017 #### It was the perfect rural retreat with the most idyllic walk through woods to the perfect beach Delivered in every aspect, the secluded location, wooded walk following the stream to the beach was just perfect. ##### Gary H. Stayed 7 nights in Jul 2017 This review was submitted before 2018 and has not been verified. ### 10/10 Excellent #### Sarah Lucas 22 Apr 2017 #### Coastal escape hidden in a lush valley We arrived on Good Friday in much need of a relaxing break away from the city, commuting, crowds and work stresses. We found what we were looking for in Parada Cottage from the homemade scones, cream and jam and pint of milk awaiting us on our arrival to the luxury of waking up and hearing only birds singing their morning chorus! Amazingly, we had six days of glorious sun and blue skies and only one day of cloud - all pretty good for mid April. The cottage was very clean and well stocked and the only improvement would be to possibly provide a couple of lamps so that it would feel cosier in the evenings. Thank you for a great holiday! ##### Sarah Lucas This review was submitted before 2018 and has not been verified. ### 8/10 Good #### Nigel M. 12 Apr 2017 #### Clean, tidy and compact with all amenities taken care of We had a lovely stay and found the accommodation comfortable and spotlessly clean. The owners couldn't have been more welcoming and friendly and the cream tea on arrival was a very welcome treat! ##### Nigel M. What a beautiful location and warm welc Beautiful location! Lovely warm welcome and loved the home made scones and jam! Our doggies loved the stay as much as we did ##### Brenda N. Lover our stay in this cottage, enjoyed the lovely valley and the walk to the beach. ##### Ben at M. The cottage was comfortable and spotlessly clean and a perfect location for walking the many public footpaths around the area. Lots of woodland walks as well as coastal paths. I didn't expect anything else but rain in November so went well equipped with my wellies. I will definitely be returning, perhaps in the spring or summer when the trees and hedgerows are in full bloom. A really beautiful place to stay and certainly deserves 5 stars ##### Lyndsey B. Stayed 3 nights in Nov 2016 This review was submitted before 2018 and has not been verified. ### 10/10 Excellent 17 Mar 2015 #### Family break with the hound! We first stayed in Mineshop Holiday Cottages in 2012 and have returned every summer since. We have two children currently aged 9 and 6 who enjoy the freedom of the meadows and the stream with Fifi our hound. We love wondering through the valley to the beach, finding shells and sea glass and catching (or trying to!) fish and crabs in the rockpools. The Coombe Barton Inn overlooks the sea and serves lovely food and real ale which my husband loves! The accomodation is always clean, well equipped and due it the location the balcony is such a sun trap. We enjoy sitting outside listening to the birds whilst watching the children (and the hound) play football in the meadow. We can't recommend Mineshop Holiday Cottages highly enough to anyone of any age; it is refreshing to take time out from the everyday hustle and bustle to spend time as a family and relax. ## Expedia's Latest Trends ### Hotels > [The Coppid Beech Hotel](https://www.expedia.co.uk/Bracknell-Hotels-The-Coppid-Beech-Hotel.h3809.Hotel-Information) > > [Carden Park](https://www.expedia.co.uk/Chester-Hotels-Carden-Park.h190780.Hotel-Information) > > [Hampton by Hilton London Gatwick Airport](https://www.expedia.co.uk/Gatwick-Hotels-Hampton-By-Hilton-London-Gatwick-Airport.h7234788.Hotel-Information) > > [Hampton by Hilton London Stansted Airport](https://www.expedia.co.uk/Stansted-Hotels-Hampton-By-Hilton-London-Stansted-Airport.h18464320.Hotel-Information) > > [Stratford Manor Hotel](https://www.expedia.co.uk/Stratford-Upon-Avon-Hotels-Stratford-Manor.h27936.Hotel-Information) > > [Ashford International Hotel & Spa](https://www.expedia.co.uk/Ashford-Hotels-Ashford-International-Hotel.h527123.Hotel-Information) > > [Retallack Resort](https://www.expedia.co.uk/St-Columb-Major-Hotels-Retallack-Resort.h4537229.Hotel-Information) > > [Bloc Hotel London Gatwick Airport](https://www.expedia.co.uk/Gatwick-Hotels-Bloc-Hotel-London-Gatwick-Airport.h6594190.Hotel-Information) > > [Sand Bay Holiday Village](https://www.expedia.co.uk/Weston-Super-Mare-Hotels-Sand-Bay-Holiday-Village.h11443695.Hotel-Information) > > [St Michael's Resort](https://www.expedia.co.uk/Falmouth-Hotels-St-Michaels-Resort.h2951426.Hotel-Information) > > [Crowne Plaza Stratford Upon Avon by IHG](https://www.expedia.co.uk/Stratford-Upon-Avon-Hotels-Crowne-Plaza-Stratford-Upon-Avon.h11307.Hotel-Information) > > [Hilton London Gatwick Airport](https://www.expedia.co.uk/Gatwick-Hotels-Hilton-London-Gatwick-Airport.h20753.Hotel-Information) > > [Norbreck Castle Hotel](https://www.expedia.co.uk/Blackpool-Hotels-Norbreck-Castle-Hotel.h6377.Hotel-Information) > > [Eastwell Manor, Champneys Hotel & Spa](https://www.expedia.co.uk/Ashford-Hotels-Eastwell-Manor.h905662.Hotel-Information) > > [Camelot Castle Hotel](https://www.expedia.co.uk/Tintagel-Hotels-Camelot-Castle-Hotel.h8083111.Hotel-Information) > > [Hollins Hall Hotel, Golf & Country Club](https://www.expedia.co.uk/Shipley-Hotels-Hollins-Hall-Hotel.h63744.Hotel-Information) > > [Chesford Grange Hotel](https://www.expedia.co.uk/Kenilworth-Hotels-Chesford-Grange.h920291.Hotel-Information) > > [Grand Burstin Hotel Folkestone](https://www.expedia.co.uk/Folkestone-Hotels-Grand-Burstin-Hotel-Folkestone.h1201483.Hotel-Information) > > [The Mill Hotel & Spa](https://www.expedia.co.uk/Chester-Hotels-The-Mill-Hotel-Spa.h1695656.Hotel-Information) > > [Village Hotel Manchester Ashton](https://www.expedia.co.uk/Ashton-Under-Lyne-Hotels-Village-Hotel-Manchester-Ashton.h1848975.Hotel-Information) > > [The Winchester Hotel & Spa](https://www.expedia.co.uk/Winchester-Hotels-The-Winchester-Hotel-Spa.h26080.Hotel-Information) > > [Hilton at St George's Park, Burton Upon Trent](https://www.expedia.co.uk/Burton-On-Trent-Hotels-Hilton-At-St-Georges-Park.h5094740.Hotel-Information) > > [Radisson Blu Hotel Manchester, Airport](https://www.expedia.co.uk/Manchester-Hotels-Radisson-Blu-Hotel-Manchester.h120016.Hotel-Information) > > [The Spa Hotel](https://www.expedia.co.uk/Royal-Tunbridge-Wells-Hotels-The-Spa-Hotel.h8849.Hotel-Information) > > [Hythe Imperial Hotel Spa & Golf](https://www.expedia.co.uk/Hythe-Hotels-Hythe-Imperial-Hotel-Spa-Golf.h9108.Hotel-Information) > > [The Rutland Arms Hotel, Bakewell, Derbyshire](https://www.expedia.co.uk/Bakewell-Hotels-The-Rutland-Arms-Hotel.h792056.Hotel-Information) > > [Harbour Beach Club & Hotel](https://www.expedia.co.uk/Salcombe-Hotels-Harbour-Beach-Club-Hotel-Spa.h2261933.Hotel-Information) > > [Fistral Beach Hotel and Spa - Adults Only](https://www.expedia.co.uk/Newquay-Hotels-Fistral-Beach-Hotel-And-Spa-Adults-Only.h1895493.Hotel-Information) > > [Worcester Whitehouse](https://www.expedia.co.uk/Worcester-Hotels-Worcester-Whitehouse.h18498.Hotel-Information) > > [Cotswolds Hotel & Spa](https://www.expedia.co.uk/Chipping-Norton-Hotels-Cotswolds-Hotel-Spa.h13106835.Hotel-Information)
