"We had an incredible stay at Poipu Shores. The view from the lanai was incredible and we could not stop watching the sea turtles in the ocean. It was great having an additional beautiful view from the bedroom and sleeping to the sounds of the ocean each night. The pool was great and we were a quick walk to Poipu beach. "Tough parts were under construction (2 of 5 hot tubs and Kukui’s restaurant), the construction did not interfere with our stay. Kukui’s set up shop near the pool and the staff were very friendly. This hotel is very well maintained and a beautiful facility with a suer friendly staff. The only thing we wish we had was more places to hang our swimsuits in the shower. Nawiliwili Bay is large and has a massive beach which was never busy. There was no seaweed on the beach but there was a significant amount of driftwood which didn’t interfere with being in the water. The waves were pretty small but there was an area that was surfing quality (although we didn’t surf). It’s a short drive to the airport but you wouldn’t know as we didn’t hear any plane noise. The Royal Sonesta is a wonderful place and we had a fantastic time there."
