Check‑in was a genuinely pleasant experience thanks to Gloria. She was kind, friendly, professional, and helpful. However, being handed off to Alexis for the timeshare sales pitch immediately afterward felt uncomfortable and pressured. After a long travel day with little sleep, needing to eat, get my bearings, and meet up with my family, I did not appreciate having to decline a presentation when all I wanted was to settle in. I understand she was doing her job, but it soured the beginning of my stay to have to repeatedly and politely explain that I was too travel‑weary—and needed to coordinate plans with my travel companions—to commit to what she was asking. This same situation occurred when my mother and I checked into a Wyndham property in Kapa‘a in 2023, so it seems worth mentioning as part of my overall experience. The room itself was clean and adequate. I spent most of my time out exploring, so I didn’t use many amenities, but the pool was nice. The jacuzzi, however, was not hot and appears to need maintenance. I enjoyed the hammock, and it was fun hearing other guests sing karaoke in the evenings. Reserved parking closer to each guest’s room would be a meaningful improvement. Overall, it’s a quiet, clean, centrally located property with lovely grounds and friendly employees.

We were looking for vintage Kauai, not cookie cutter resort (been there, done that) and Kauai Inn delivered. They had me at "oldest Inn in Hawaii" and sold me at free parking and no resort fees. Bonuses, excellent breakfast with estate grown apple bananas, 24 hour coffee and tea, peacocks, laundry and..... free use of beach towels and brand new Tommy Bahama beach chairs for the whole stay. We LOVED this stay. Chris and Phillip Phlop 😆 were the best hosts and the entire staff was lovely. Be sure to look through their historical pictures and ask which room John Wayne stayed in! Location was perfect, we did everything to do easily in 5 days.

Beautiful hotel and pool. The rooms are very clean and nice. They are strict about early check in times. We showed up early with our wedding cake hoping to check in an hour and an half early and we were told our room wasn’t ready, but it was. We waited at the pool resteraunt for a while and were able to refrigerate the cake there. When our room was ready they showed me the location on the map of where our room was and it had a view of the parking lot. After paying what we did to stay there, and it being our wedding weekend, I asked if they could move us to another room in our room category that didn’t overlook the parking. They moved us to another room with a lawn view that was great and that was ready the whole time. In moving our room location we lost our only wedding gift which was a gift basket that was gifted to us through the hotel from our family and put in our room. The hotel didn’t have notes or know to move the basket from the first room I guess. I will not stay at this hotel again.

It was a nice quiet resort with not a lot of people around which was nice for our honeymoon. I didn’t realize how far north the resort is and far from a lot of the activities we wanted to do. The unit was perfect for us but it definitely was outdated. The main bathroom shower head was terrible. It was really close to a private beach but not really safe for swimming due to the waves.
