Herrliche Lage direkt an der Düne.

Posted 24-Oct-2016

Good old quaint family run beach motel.

Posted 27-Sep-2016
Pros: Locally owned and operated, very friendly staff, a short walk to the beach, one of the best restaurants on the beach.
Cons: Tv's are old crt sets and need to be upgraded to HD, wi-fi would be nice for those who need it. Fridge had no shelves.
Location: Convenient location near Whalebone junction, Jeanette's pier,A short drive to historic Manteo and to Oregon inlet.
Been going to the OBX for almost 50 years, way before the big name concrete and glass high rise hotels and motels and still prefer staying in an old school "homey" motel.

Very, very strange place.

Posted 27-Sep-2016
Pros: The house keepers were really good.
Cons: Put a phone in the rooms and provide wifi since you advertise as having it.
Location: The location was fine, but then again so is every other hotel nearby.
We check in and go to the room and it is clean but very strange. Right away I notice that a lamp and alarm clock on the night stand are not working. This is because there is no outlet to plug either one into on that wall. Also the bathroom's outlet was covered up by the mirror. I try to connect to the wifi that the hotel claims to have in its advertisements but cannot find a hotspot. I was going to use the phone in the room to call the front desk but there was also no phone in the room. When I called the front desk from my cell phone, the desk clerk told me that they do not have wifi and that it is a mistake in all their advertisements. I ask about the lack of a phone and she said they had to remove the phones from the rooms a long time ago. I was relieved to find out that the pool wasn't a false advertisement, however it is located directly adjacent to the dumpsters for the hotel's restaurant.

We didn't stay

Posted 23-Sep-2016
Pros: nothing
Cons: sorry, I don't know.
Location: Nothing to do.
We didn't even stay there, we checked in, looked at the room, drove from Nags Head to Corolla, turned around, gave back the key and headed to Virginia Beach.

older hotel with cheaper prices

Posted 16-Sep-2016
Pros: Location, prices, staff.
Cons: Get wifi
Location: Fishing pier and restaurant walking distance. Jockeys ridge state park and Wright brothers near by.
Staff at Owens and restaurant were great. The hotel is about 60 years old and hasn't changed much. It is in a good location but doesn't have many features. I like the hotel because of its great staff and cheap prices. If your on a budget this is a great place to stay.

Old fashioned beach motel

Posted 26-Aug-2016 on Hotels
Owens Hotel was the perfect base for a quick trip to the beach with friends. An old fashioned, non-chain motel. Rooms were clean with plenty of towels, two chairs outside our door, and only a few steps across the parking lot to the beach. The only thing that could be improved upon was the air conditioner-- noisy, freezing cold and still humid in our room. We appreciated an outdoor shower right by the beach entry.

Beach front or not?

Posted 25-Aug-2016 on CheapTickets
Pros: Nothing.
Cons: Demolish.
The office and about a dozen rooms are ocean front. The rest is across the street including "" THE COURT YARD", Didn't know that. In 2016 NO INTERNET? Very disappointed. Never again. Oh, I nearly forgot the MICRO BATHROOMS.
