Dated Hotel

Posted 20-Aug-2016
Clean but very dated. Small room. Bathroom including shower was the size of what you would find in a camper/RV-very tiny. Our family of 4 needed more space. The pool was in an unusual location-directly behind restaurant and beside trash containers. Very unpleasant odor when swimming.

Nice motel right on the beach

Posted 10-Aug-2016
Pros: The location was great, right on the beach.
Cons: the decor could have been updated.
Location: Motel is right on the beach. You can walk to Jeanette's Pier in about 5 minutes. It is a short drive from Manteo and Jockey Ridge State Park.
Nice motel in Nags Head. Right on the beach and close to attractions in Nags Head like Jeanette's Pier. For the price, the location is great. It is not a 5 start resort, but being right on the beach made up for that. We had a decent sized room and comfortable bed.

Close to the beach

Posted 08-Aug-2016
Pros: Closeness to the beach and the pool.
Cons: Painting of the paneling in a nice fun light color. Better parking for some rooms.
Location: My daughter and I went go-karting and played mini golf just a 1/4 mile away. ocean just across the street.
I found this motel fine for my one night stay. I don't think I'd pick it for longer than a weekend though. It was fine but I found a few things make me feel a bit "blah" about it. I think the biggest thing was the brown paneling. That may sound picky but I feel for a beach motel it should be bright and "sunny" to put you in a bright and sunny mood. I think just a good coat of light colored paint would make all the difference in the world. I found everything else about the room just fine for the price. It had everything I could want really and it was just across the street from the ocean. It was plenty cold enough in our room and I liked having a fridge, microwave and a little table to eat at. But like I said for me being so dark feeling (except at night where it seemed to be a ton of light coming in our room) was a mood depressor. As for would I recommend this motel to someone, I would, as I know it's a family owned and run business and I'm always for that :) I know they put in lots of time and effort to having people want to stay there again. If you don't mind dark paneling you'd probably find this place nice enough for the price. I think it's a good "few days" type place for the value.

Not worth the money

Posted 04-Aug-2016
Cons: Everything
Short and sweet, I would not recommend this hotel for the price. I paid almost $200 for a room and it was ridiculous. The bed cover, on both beds, stunk like BO...and it was not our BO because we had just got into the room. The lights didn't work and the bathroom had not been cleaned very well. The walls were paper thin...to the point we could hear everything our neighbors were saying and doing. We figured there were about 50 rooms...at $200/night/room...for even 6 months that's $1.8M this place brings in and they can't afford a decent cleaning crew, a few upgrades, and clean bedding. No thank you.

Adequate only for 1 nite stay, only.

Air conditioner cooled adequately but was extremely noisy. Room basically clean but had cockroaches. Ice machine 1 block away. Room small. Door lock non existent. Had to use chair to prevent door from being opened. Over priced.

Close to the beach

Staff was not very friendly. Room had a smell when we first arrived. There were roaches in the bathroom. And we felt they were racist.

Basic accommodation with great beach access.

Posted 25-Jul-2016
Pros: Location.
Cons: The room is very basic but clean and functional. Not much in the way out of amenities.
Location: Beach, dining, shopping all easily accessible.
We stayed just one day on the way to Hatteras Island. We spent the day at the beach and the pool. We walked to dinner and breakfast. A nice relaxing break.

Great Location, Terrible Lodging

Posted 10-Jul-2016
Having read the reviews I didn't expect much & it delivered. Great location across the street from beach (not oceanfront as pictured) Granted it was a very cheap room rate, I could have gotten past the old room, musty smelling carpet but the cockroach sighting was too much. Hint, sleep with the lights on. I'm not going back. Shame as nice spot

Pros: The pool.
Cons: Overall condition of room.
Location: Accessible
The room we booked had no use of the microwave or the air conditioner. We had to pack up and move to another room. That room had warm water not hot enough too take a shower and the air conditioner had a malfunction. Would you be unset after paying $134.00 for the sorry service.
