Journey 16 miles (26 kilometers) east from Otsu to Kameoka, where you can visit the Kameoka Sports Ground and Anaoji Temple.
Approximately 5 miles (8 kilometers) to the west of Otsu is Kyoto, a regional center where you can explore Kiyomizu Temple, Chion-in Temple and Myoshinji Temple. Nonomiya Shrine, Higashi Honganji Temple and Kyoto Municipal Zoo are also good places to head to.
