These are budget rooms within the Karl Johans hotel. The FREE breakfast is AMAZING as is the location!!! Walkable to many places! Love it and definitely plan to stay there again.

Auch in einem “budget room “ sollte alles funktionieren. Das Badlicht funktioniert nicht ohne das Hauptlicht mit anzuschalten, was in der Nacht sehr anstrengend war. Schimmel an der Zimmerdecke. Als Budget Kunde kann man nur wählen zwischen einem Zimmer mit Straßen- und Restaurantlärm oder ein Zimmer mit Ausblick auf die Klimaanlagen mit den dazu gehörigen Brummen und Summen. Ich fühlte mich als Mensch zweiter Klasse.

Nice exterior but....
Karl Johans Gate 35 seems to be the poor stepsister of the adjacent Karl Johan Hotel. It shares a lobby, elevator and breakfast area but the residential space is separate and oriented towards less affluent trravelers. The air become much more stuffy immediately upon stepping into the 35 wing. The modest single room was uncomfortably warm on a 70 degree (Fahrenheit) day, although it eventually cooled down upon opening the windows and turning on the fan. I found the mattress and pillow uncomfortable, but that could just be me. The other major sticking point, though, was the nonstop thumping from the nightclub below. I asked for a quiet room and assured that the assigned room (365) was far from the music, I could definitely hear the thumping into the wee hours of the morning. The location is great and the breakfast buffet is large and varied. However, I really had a problem with the noise and stuffiness, so I can't give a higher rating here.

The lack of air conditioning was known. But windows are wired to prevent them from properly opened - meaning the rooms are unbearably hot and stuffy and unable to be aired.

Perfectly convenient location in downtown Oslo, and the only hotel we stayed in Norway that had a kettle in the room. Sold as a “budget” room, it didn’t feel like it. Buffet breakfast included, huge selection. Would stay here again.

This property is central and convenient. The staff were really helpful to sort out a twin room when I had inadvertently booked a double.

Hotel is central. Walkimg distance to underground, shopping area, restos and palace . Friendly and professional staff. Room 353 had a foul smell coming from toilet. It has a view to the park but loud di If you are a lighg sleeper ..Jazz bar in underneath. Will stat here again but will resetve another room facing the back .

Loud music every night until 3AM.
Denied sleep by thumping music from nearby hotels and clubs until 3AM on all the nights I stayed except the night I asked to moved to the interior courtyard rooms. I had one full day in Oslo and had to sleep until noon because I was kept awake all night by inescapable club music. A truly nice hotel ruined by ridiculous noise pollution that earplugs and white noise couldn't drown. Stay at your own risk

Location is excellent and staff is very friendly. Breakfast was excellent and very varied. Room was extremely small and hot. There are no ACs in the room; there is a small fan that doesn’t do anything

Unfortunately, the street noise in the room was appallingly loud. Sounded like a dance club was immediately below, and the room had no telephone to communicate with the front desk when at 2AM, the thumping bass still hadn’t stopped. Loudest hotel room of my life. No to mention, curtains that didn’t block the non-stop summer sunlight. This is probably why the cost was so reasonable. Beware.

Veldig prisvennlig, sentralt og fint hotell! Rommet var rent og senga var god. Badet var ok, men uten avtrekksvifte så hele rommet ble fuktig etter en dusj. -Måtte ha oppe vinduet. En god del støy fra gaten, men det gikk fint. Frokosten var meget bra! Blidt og hyggelig personale!

Rommet var iskaldt, vannet i dusj og spring var kaldt! Måtte be om bytte av sengetøy når jeg kom for det var ikke rent! Ellers var rommet greit i forhold til størrelse/ møbler for en helg og sove etter fest!

Toalett i dusjen
Hotellet ligger fint og supersentralt til. Det er sikkert fine rom på hotellet, men vil ikke anbefale billig-varianten "budget" fordi det var både smått, kaldt og lite praktisk. På det vesle badet var toalettet faktisk plassert sammen med dusjen, så når du dusjer blir toalettet gjennomvått. Jeg bodde der en kald natt og rommet var iskaldt uten mulighet for å regulere temperaturen. Men ser du bort fra dette så var både frokosten og helheten ganske bra og til en rimelig penge.

Grei valuta for pengene midt på Karl Johan. Hyggelig og hjelpsom betjening. Obs på at de billigste rommene vender inn mot en bakgård hvor det er mye bråk fra ventilasjonsanlegget til hele bygningen. Sjenerende på dagtid, men heldigvis roligere på natta. God frokost i hyggelig rom.

Overvaskende god Hotel midt i byen for lite penger. Moderne interiør og ryddige rom. Utrolig god servise. God valg av mat til frokost. Fikk problem med varm vann i dusjen, men klarte å fikse det om en stund, måtte vente litt lengre. Gulvet på badet vært alt for varmt, har stått på håndkle. Flekk på teppe ved gangen. Ellers alt fint. Helt sikkert at jeg kommer tilbake
