"Been here before -hence reason for return for wedding anniversary and birthdays - private beach , pools , choices of different themed restaurants - good location next to Marina with more restaurants , cafes , and trip arrangement offices - would recommend definitely for those who like quality and variety without leaving hotel grounds"

"Very nice hotel , wonderful location the views from our room were spectacular,well located to spend your time exploring the area , we took in the one restaurant dinner and service were excellent , the breakfast buffet was good , our last morning the buffet was busy and our service was none existent , no coffee or even a request for any the half hour we ate. This should not happen at a luxury hotel. One evening the main lobby bar Azur was in disarray ,service was very poor. The food once received was very good. We advised them and their service recovery was much appreciated. If we are ever in that part of the world again we would definitely stay here. The positives outweighed our couple of negative interactions. There front concierge was outstanding a shout out to them"

"A pleasant hotel, but I was hoping for a little more given the reviews. The hotel is modern and has all the facilities you could want, including a swimming pool, gym and bar. Breakfast was good, and I would say above average overall. That said, I would recommend changing the brand of baked beans and sausages! The bar was also a nice place to relax, with plenty of TV screens if you enjoy watching sport. We didn’t try the restaurant, as there is so much choice in the local area. However, the hotel might benefit from offering guests an incentive to dine there. I believe the themed buffet costs around €35 per person. For me, the main downside, and the reason I wouldn’t give five stars, was the lack of sunshine. Our room was at the back of the hotel, meaning our balcony was always in the shade. In October, this made it quite cold, and we would have appreciated being offered a room with a sunnier aspect. The pool area was another disappointment in this respect, as it remains in the shade for much of the day. By around 1.30 pm, there was hardly any sunshine left around the pool. A big plus, though, is the beautiful beach directly opposite the hotel, where sunbeds were available for just €6 for the day. Overall, we had a nice stay and enjoyed ourselves. With a few improvements, particularly around room allocation and making the most of the sunshine, the hotel could offer an even better experience. Thank you for a pleasant stay!"

"Stayed in Oct this year. Our room was lovely, the whole hotel was clean and well maintained. Staff were very friendly and helpful. The hotel was in a very good location, overlooking the marina and Ria Formosa natural park, it was within easy reach of the old town and lots of lovely restaurants. I would definitely stay here again when in Faro."

"Excellent in most ways but just failing in one key area: the sunbeds which are, after all, used for many hours a day, are far too taut and require, for any comfort for over 15 minutes, a mattress as they have in some of the beds in their sister hotel, 10 minutes' walk away This is such a pity, as so much else is nice about the hotel. It could also do with a wider range of pillows for the room beds, which are memory foam and therefore not the most comfortable. The air conditioning is inadequate and needs to provide lower temperatures. We were too warm every night, in the month of October. As in many resorts, the nightly entertainment is mediocre, with the same kind of musicians playing too loudly, to the discomfort of those who want to chat rather than dance or be deafened, using backing tracks and with little ability to play requests or vary music styles. If the volume was lower, most people could put up with the very average and sometimes below-average singing quality of the artists. This drives away rather than attracts many residents but those who have low appreciation and high tolerance levels. The food was excellent at breakfast and the table arrangements were fine. Pool water was always clean and at a nice temperature, even whilst the sea is warmer than usual. This hotel is closing for an upgrade over the next 6 or 7 months, and we hope that these problems might be addressed to bring it up to the standard of which it is certainly capable.
