The Blue Lion is ideally situated for a stop over when making a long journey to Cornwall. The room was well equipped and comfortable. There is some traffic noise from the road, but that did not spoil our one night stay. The staff were welcoming and the locals were friendly. The evening meal was excellent. I would stay here again if travelling in this area.

We've stayed at The Cornish Arms on many occasions and it never fails to disappoint. Fantastic welcoming staff, wonderful food (dinner and breakfast) and a well-appointed and luxurious room.

Thoroughly enjoyed our 3 nights here. Breakfasts lovely [ my favourite is the scrambled egg with smoked salmon ] Suppers also delicious. Good menu selection with Sea Bass & Rump Steak being my choices ( on 2 different occasions - - I should add.! ). Dog friendly - which is important if you want to have your pooches with you which we did. Allocated a downstairs room which is delightful with excellent shower & loo facilities. Would we want to stay here again. You bet !! PRB

Hidden away in the beautiful village of South Zeal, The Oxenham Arms is one of those places that feels like a real discovery. A stunning historic building surrounded by gorgeous gardens, it has all the charm you'd hope for from a proper country inn. What really makes it special, though, is the wonderful team – warm, welcoming and genuinely friendly from the moment you arrive. If you're looking for somewhere with character, a peaceful off-the-beaten-track setting and fantastic hospitality, this...

Friendly and helpful staff. Food was excellent All good

Our new favourite place, absolutely faultless. Food is exceptional, a significant step up from your normal pub grub. Our little pooch was also made to feel incredibly welcome and even served with her own little platter of treats. A beautifully clean and well presented restaurant experience that welcomes anyone whether it be special celebrations or a party of hikers that have just conquered Dartmoor. 100% we will be back and bringing friends and family.

Lovely room at Bearslake. Everything was set up for us on arrival. Breakfast hamper was lovely

Traditional inn with wonderful welcoming owners. Room was spacious, clean and cool. Food was delicious with a great choice at breakfast. Would highly recommend.

A nice pub with friendly well trained staff. Large and varied menu.

This was a home from home. We could not have been made to feel more welcome. After a 3.5 day drive from Corfu to walk through the doors of a friendly Great British hostelry was simply the best experience. Spacious accommodation in the Flat, plenty of room to unwind with my two dogs who were a little wound up after the long drive. A good nights sleep and the ability to run off steam in the field opposite, we all left relaxed and chilled. Pub grub was fabulous too! As I couldn’t stay for breakfast...

Great staff, friendly and attentive. Amazing food, real ale, extensive wine list. Reminiscent of how hotels used to be before corporate takeovers

Absolutely fabulous. Go and stay there - whether you are in the area or not! The best welcome I've ever had in any commercial place of stay - better than some friends! Beautifully done, lovely touches everywhere and wonderfully thoughtful service. Thanks you!

From the moment we arrived, to the moment we left, we had nothing but friendly attentive service from the staff at the pub. We were fortunate to be upgraded from a room in the pub to one of the relatively new lodges. The lodge was immaculate on arrival and very comfortable and well equipped. We had breakfast included and this was first class with locally sourced food included. We had two evening dinners at the pub and both were excellent from the very varied menu on offer.

A quirky place with great food and service. The location is perfect for driving to all areas of Cornwall.

A great stop over on the way to Cornwall A nice welcome on arrival and we found our booking upgraded to a larger room. A good selection of pies for dinner and fresh pastries and coffee for breakfast. Fresh coffee and cafetière in the room was a nice touch.

Staff incredibly helpful from Manager to the cleaner- great breakfast
