"Great location, Great staff and lobby areas, Rooms were great, bathrooms a little tired. Pool area needed a lot of attention, the steam room was totally out of action and the fact there was a daily parking charge on top of the room charge was disapointing."

"The staff were excellent, the breakfast was really good but the room was very noisy. There was a function near our room and the music and associated noise of people upstairs was not good. We had to complain at reception twice and finally could get to sleep at 11.30, which is not unacceptable but not really what you want from this class of hotel. I now regret not asking for a partial refund."

"The room was clean and the bed comfortable. However, we really didn't like the Pub and Grill - small, crowded and very noisy - the football being shown on every vertical surface was embellished with loud and annoying music. We decided to eat in our room - which had its own contribution to add. The only way to order was via an app - which didn't work. As there are no phones in the rooms ( and no phone number provided to reach reception), I had to stand in the hallway to use one of the few phones around and order food whilst fellow guests walked past. It's a good thing I'm not self conscious! The food itself was ok, though being lactose intolerant seriously restricted my choices ( good thing I'm not a vegan!). Otherwise, the staff were very nice and I have no complaints on that front. Can't comment on the pool facilities as we didn't use them (despite paying for them) but that was entirely our fault."

"Bed frame was very squeaky when sit on it. Front desk told me that its the same in the other remaining room which was true to my surprise. Room was muggy warm, needed to use a fan to cool down; window locked closed. Bathroom was missing a set of towels for 2nd person. Front desk was friendly trying to help. Buffet Breakfast was good though."

"I was very impressed with The Lodge. It was easy to find, plenty of parking, reception staff were friendly and helpful. We booked two rooms, unfortunately one room had a smell to it, I think from a drain, hence 4 stars. Other than that the beds was massive, the rooms were clean and I would happily stay there again."

"Stain on carpet and sheets after room was “cleaned”, no fridge, other than that room was spacious and relaxing. No smart TV and no access to the back for a firestick so stuck with free view channels "

"Good check in very friendly receptionist. Room lovely, larger than expected, clean and full of charm, nice touch homemade cookies. Downside was view which looked onto a full skip of rubbish! Selected hotel for the rooftop bar, however this was closed, had we been advised of this would have probably selected something cheaper. Bar area is lovely, shame the cellar section in the pictures used to promote the hotel, seems to be only for events and functions.Dinner was amazing great food and service, breakfast however was very disappointing. For the price the continental was very limited no cheese or meat. Lots of choice on the hot options unfortunately when it came the bacon was burnt and the black pudding was overdone. Was asked if they could get us something else, but this was as they were clearing which was too late, no one came over during the time we were eating to check if everything was ok, they were too busy chatting! All in all mixed review lots of good but also plenty to improve on."
