A curate's egg

Posted 08-May-2017
Pros: see above
Cons: Breakfast service and menu range
Location: Because the venue is so aimed at the wedding trade there's no information in the rooms about the locality.
Lots of plusses; our room in the annexe (recommended, it's very quiet there) was adequate in size and very clean with up-to-date facilities, good shower for the less mobile. Reception staff most helpful and a good night's sleep. The let-down was breakfast, food well cooked, no problem there but I think the place is really aimed at the wedding parties so morning service is at a minimum, too DIY for me. Butter in nasty little wrapped pats, sauces in un-openable sachets, no jug/cafetierre for coffee, instead on demand (if there's any one around), help yourself to marmalade etc (if you can find a spoon). The menu is full English or selected items - no fish options and what about ham and cheese for continental guests? I know good B&Bs that get all this right and at cheaper prices. If these things don't bother you have a nice stay, I'm sure you will.

Convenient clean and pleasant hotel.

Posted 18-Apr-2017 on Hotels
This was a pleasant stay in a pleasant hotel. Staff were friendly, courteous and helpful. The grounds were lovely. The pool was not yet in action as it was too early so hadn't yet been cleaned. The rooms were not very soundproof so when one room was up and in the shower it could be heard. An enjoyable stay.

One night business stay

Lovely staff and very accommodating. Evening meal was nice ( veg a little over cooked but tasty). Breakfast and lunch were very nice with a good selection of cereals available. The room was very comfortable - however I needed to go into the bar to get a good wifi reception. I would stay again - I was made very welcome.

We stayed here for a family wedding reception and could not have asked for a better location and experience. This is a beautiful hotel in an idyllic rural setting. The staff were very friendly and attentive, and their service was second to none. The hotel rooms are spacious and well decorated, warm and comfortable. We would recommend this hotel and rate it first class.

great stay

Posted 29-Jan-2017
Pros: Everything. Staff, facilities, attitude, service, food.
Cons: Nothing that I could see.
Location: Business trip, not applicable.
All three agree, very warm welcome, especially as delayed and very late arrival. Staff all welcoming . Looked after nicely after long journey. breakfast was superb. A very nice hotel, to coin a phrase "exactly as it says on the can" Obviously does weddings, I would think very very well. Stay here anytime when this way again. Thanks.

No hot water to shower

Posted 18-Oct-2016
Location: Huby village pubs do not seem to open on Monday lunchtimes/ afternoons and no food was available in the evening. We visited the birds of prey centre.
Food was excellent ,pity about the officious duty manager who demanded we stand right here as it was his rules.Where or when does one ever get that ,having stayed in 5 star hotels and bed and breakfasts we have never encountered such an individual and the sooner his services are dispensed with the better. The hotel itself and the rest of the staff were good, however not being able to shower at 6 30 am is not acceptableEVEN AFTER LEAVING THE SHOWER RUNNING FOR OVER TEN MINUTES.

Nice country hotel close to Norwich

Posted 26-Sep-2016 on Hotels
Great Service, nice food and very attentive staff. great business stay for 5 days and was working in the center of Norwich. Travel time into the town center was about 40 minutes due to traffic and road works.
