About this property
Riverside Holiday Cottage Nr The Iconic Wroxham Bridge. 2-Bedroom Pet-Friendly
Star Cottage is a 2-bedroom (sleeps 4) riverside holiday cottage in the village of Wroxham, in the heart of the Norfolk Broads. The cottage is close to the famous and iconic Wroxham Bridge and has the great benefit of being on the downstream side of the bridge where all the activity takes place! Star Cottage guests can relax in the lounge or on their private patio while watching the ever-changing scenery of wildlife and boating activities taking place on the river before them.
Guests may fish directly from the cottage lawns (in season only), and many other activities such as cycling, canoeing, walking and horse-riding are available very close by - as are a range of pubs, cafes, restaurants and local shopping in Wroxham village centre, which is only a short walk away. The cottage has it’s own private parking but since Wroxham village has a railway station and excellent bus services, so you can easily holiday at Star Cottage without needing a car at all if required.
So, whether you are looking for an energetic holiday or a relaxing one, Star Cottage is the ideal location. And don’t forget that Wroxham is within easy exploring distance of the Norfolk coast, much beautiful countryside and quaint local villages – or even city-centre shopping in Norwich.
The cottage itself sleeps up to four guests in two comfortable bedrooms, one double and one twin. The whole property has been progressively re-decorated to a high standard by the current owners.
On the ground floor the cottage has an entrance hall with storage and cloakroom, with a large open-plan lounge, dining and kitchen area making-up the rest of the ground floor, with French doors leading out onto a small private patio, complete with garden furniture.
Upstairs is a family bathroom including full-size bath with electric shower over. The main double bedroom has views across the river, and includes a dressing table, built-in wardrobe and room for a travel cot if required. The main bedroom also includes a television for those late-night movies!
The smaller twin bedroom also benefits from a built-in wardrobe, and linen and duvets for all beds is included, with beds made-up for your arrival.
Star Cottage may be booked for either full weeks or short breaks lasting 3 or 4 days. In either case a variety of start and end dates are available, subject to any existing bookings – if you have any non-standard requirements please get in touch and we will try very hard to accommodate your needs.
Well-behaved pets are welcome at Star Cottage, and please note that electricity is INCLUDED in the price – no nasty extra bills!. Towels (2 per guest) are provided, and the cottage has it's own broadband Wi-Fi service

Great location, walking distance to everything and perfect to watch the boats. Ideal short stay. The only downside was the double mattress was extremely uncomfortable like lying on concrete.
We had an amazing stay. Property clean. Everything we needed. Fantastic location. The only thing is it needs a shelf in the bathroom.
Thank you, we will be booking again in the new year
Lovely little cottage, good views of river bure , the only thing wasn’t too good was the cottage needs up dating, wasn’t as clean as I would have liked, dirt all round the taps , and bath, beds very old ,but still enjoyed our stay.
Absolutely brilliant location opposite Hotel Wroxham. However, property lacked suitable outdoor furniture as it comprised only four metal chairs and a metal table. No umbrella, which was vital for the week in question.
Property was reasonably kitted out but we were fed up with banging our head on the numerous low ceilings.
Notwithstanding the above, we had an enjoyable week.
Excellent location for pubs, boat hire, takeout, supermarket. The property was clean and tidy did not smell of dogs, a little outdated sofa/chair has seen better days but having said that the bed was comfy and we enjoyed our stay overall.
The host of this property is most obliging and the cottage is in a convenient and beautiful spot. Parking was very close but only for one car if you have more you have to pay elsewhere. Well equipped although the WiFi was very flaky and only basic freeview tv’s plus the bed was a little hard for us. I also feel the cottage would definitely benefit from a bit of redecoration and furniture declutter downstairs. But that aside we really enjoyed our stay and all amenities are on the doorstep within walking distance.
The cottage was delightful and situated in a beautiful location on the river Bure. Getting out and about was easy and central for shopping and eating out.
Perfect place for a riverside holiday .
House was well equipted for our family of 4 and dog.
Welcome pack including dog food was appreciated .
Lovely riverside views .
Thank you would visit again .
Great location on the banks of the river, lovely and relaxing watching the boats go by. Smooth check in and swift communication with the owner via email regarding any questions before we arrived. It is cosy for 4 adults but as the weather was so good we weren’t inside that much, kitchen facilities were good and thank you for the welcome pack of tea, coffee, biscuits and washing up items. It would have been handy to have a clothes airer to dry wet clothes after our days out. WiFi was a touch temperamental and sometimes unusable but we were warned beforehand that it wasn’t the fastest/best but we were on holiday so not that much of an issue to us. The only real issue was one of the single bed mattresses that was obviously old as the springs were felt whatever position you tried to sleep in, we even turned it over to see if that was better!
Cottage was small and needs up dating and new furniture

Brilliant location but lacks cleanliness
I did contact the owner of the property before posting thos review but hes not replied.
We had multiple problems with the house.
Tap in kitchen very noisy and banging
No oven gloves in the kitchen
Dressing table mirror screwed down in the middle but stool to the left no space to sit in front of the mirror.
Shower curtain doesn't go all the way around the bath surround menaing water goes everywhere
Extractor factor in the kitchen - doesn't work/ not connected
Black Marks on the wallpaper in the bedroom and lounge- family members refused to sleep in that bed theh were that bad.
No welcome pack of instructions - where are the bins? How to work the radiators as it doesnt have central heating.
No batteries in the tv remotes
Really could do with a grab handle to help people get out of the shower/bath
Loose floor tiles in the bathroom in front of the toilet
Taps in the bathroom are full of limescale
No light in the fridge
Freezer box all frozen up we could hardly open it to use
Shocking mattresses in single bedroom, springs poking through
Lamp in single room doesn't work
After flushing the toilet water runs for ages
Problems with the toaster, can't unplug it, loose wire, works sometimes and other times not
Sewerage smell from the drain outside the front door
Convenient Location for Wroxham shops and visiting surrounding area
Owner quickly resolved a problem the kettle,
Rear view of river, swans and ducks very pleasant from French doors.
Good to have secure, free parking.

Perfect location
A lovely little cottage in a beautiful location. Arrived the first evening to find the hot tap in the kitchen broken and the fire not working. Fortunately there was another heater in the lounge so we didn’t freeze. I rang Simon? in the morning and he assured me that all would be fixed and when we returned from a day out all was as it should be. We really enjoyed our stay and would definitely recommend. We would all like to make a return trip. Thank you.

The property was nice but not very clean. The picture of the property is very misleading, there is now a boat dock in front of the cottage, with a boat that is nothing to do with the cottage, permanently moored there. As we booked the property because of its water frontage so that we could do some fishing it was very disappointing. The lounge was very cramped due to a large table which was restricting.

Cosy cottage in Wroxham
The cottage has everything necessary for a comfortable stay for up to 4 people. The bed and other furniture was comfortable and the kitchen was well equipped. Wroxham village is within a 10 minute walk. Roy's has everything you would possibly need. It was fun to watch the swans, ducks and other birds on the river. The cottage is well situated to Norwich as well as the coast if you have a car. The wifi is fast and fine for regular email but if you want to be on Facebook or need to look at websites that have a lot of graphic images it is limited. There are other free wifi networks available from time to time but they are sporadic and limited as well. Overall we had a nice stay and Jeremy was very helpful.
