"The hotel reception, outside area, bar and restaurant were all great. The room was clean, the bathroom had been updated and was fine. The windows needed drastic attention, we could not move them due to the state of repair, I assume there is some sort on 'listed building status' but they really need attention. The location and everything else was great."

"The bedroom was clean and well equipped. I would have liked a comfortable chair to sit in rather than hard backed dining chairs however, this did not impact on my stay, only the ability to knit. We had dinner in the dining room, serviced by fantastic staff. The food was amazing, both my husband and I thoroughly enjoyed the meal. Breakfast was buffet style, we would have like fried eggs as opposed to scrambled and neither of us liked the sausages, otherwise enjoyable. We did not use the bar so can’t comment. The hotel location is beautiful, the grounds well maintained. We would consider using the hotel again in the future"

"2 night stay Perfect location just up the hill from the river and mother shiptons cave. Rooms clean and comfortable. Great opt out off room clean and free drinks a plus. Staff friendly and helpful. Plenty of parking. Buffet breakfast nice but not everyone's taste. Good choice of menu, for lunch and dinner, food nice but could do with more flavour. We would definatley stay again."
