"From arrival to departure the staff were extremely friendly. The hotel is perfectly situated for exploring the Northumberland Coast and beyond and it's only a few minutes drive to Bamburgh Castle. The beach is literally across the road from the hotel and great for dog walks. Our room which was situated on the ground floor was gorgeous and meticulously clean, it had double doors leading to a private patio which was perfect for Delphi our dog. From breakfast to evening meals the food was delicious with plenty of choice and the portions were perfect. Delphi was treated to a sausage for each of her breakfast visits! An extremely dog friendly hotel and we shall definitely be visiting again."

"If you are looking for the authentic English village experience this is perfect. Beautiful old hotel with a nice pub on the first floor. Friendly people, two more pubs on the same corner. There’s a really beautiful forest nearby for good walks , it’s about a 30 min drive to the coast (Holy Island, Bamburgh etc). was really really enjoyable. "

"A really nice hotel. We stayed one night in a family room (family of 4 with 2 teenage girls). The room was spacious and well laid out. It was clean and modern. Both check in and check out were quick and easy and the staff were really friendly. We used the hotel restaurant and bar which was super convenient after 2 weeks of travelling. All in all this place far exceeded our expectations and we would absolutely stay here again if we come back to Alnwick."

"Marcus and the team were amazing! Great service, atensuin to detail and really friendly made our stay fabulous. We booked dinner for the first night, the food was lovely, so much so we eat there again the following night. We’d definitely recommend the fish and chips, pizza and Zuppa Di Pesce - amazing fresh fish and tomato soup! "

"It’s very basic and worn but very clean and quaint. Staff universally friendly and helpful. Beds were comfy and our daughter loved the bunk bed in the family room. Fairly quiet for us at night but I don’t think they were fully booked. Very convenient to Alnwick Castle and Lilidorei. Would recommend 100% for a short stay (or longer if you aren’t fussy or expecting luxury). "

"Quirky and classy at the same time. Just really enjoyed our stay and admired the buildings and property. Staff were very sweet and kind. Loved the community seating in the dining area- met two lovely ladies and enjoyed conversation. Breakfast was delicious! "
