10/10 Excellent
"It’s just far enough away from the chaos of the nightlife but close enough that you can walk to everything within 5 to 10 minutes. It has great views of the city, excellent amenities and cleanliness, and the comfort that you would expect and easily accessible getting in and out of the hotel."

Hotel Hankyu RESPIRE OSAKA

Hotel Hankyu RESPIRE OSAKA

8/10 Good
"A bit of a skyscraper, modern, well located hotel in the Umeda district. Good for getting around. The hotel is a bit souless, which starts from the moment you check yourself into the hotel. The rooms are tiny no room to swing a cat, but rooms are comfortable, clean, with good bathroom and Japanese mini bath. It is a popular and busy place, but room was quiet. Great view from the 21st floor. Good value for a couple of nights."

10/10 Excellent
"The amenities were fantastic. There is the rooftop onsen with baths and showers (tattoo friendly). There is coin laundry on site (a wash is ¥700, the machine only takes ¥100 coins)and there is a Familymart directly downstairs. There is luggage transfer in the hotel reception and the staff are very friendly and helpful. Location is 5 mins walk from the subway Best and most luxurious I’ve been too. Cannot recommend enough"

Pocket Guide: Osaka North Osaka Hotels

Staying in North Osaka can be an affordable and convenient choice if you’re looking to explore beyond the bright lights and exciting sights of the city. This is where the skyscrapers and shopping malls start giving way to less bustling neighbourhoods. If you pick a hotel in North Osaka – also known as Hokusetsu – you’ll be within easy reach of some great attractions, open spaces and plenty of opportunities to see Japan’s natural scenery in all its glory.

Choose Accommodation in North Osaka

To the north of Osaka and beyond the city’s boundaries into the wider Osaka prefecture, you’ll find a range of accommodation in North Osaka, mainly clustered around the key road and rail transport hubs and the major sightseeing destinations. There’s a good selection of mid-range modern hotels, plus some affordable two-star properties.

Explore EXPO Park

For a glimpse of all that Japan has to offer wrapped up in one attraction, you could stay near EXPO Park. About half an hour north of Shin-Osaka, the park occupies the site of the 1970 Japan World Exposition. You can still see some of the original exhibits, including the Japanese Garden, Japan Folk Crafts Museum and the 65-metre high Tower of the Sun. There’s also a host of sporting facilities, hot springs, a treetop walkway, the National Museum of Ethnology and the International Institute for Children’s Literature.

Discover Japan’s Natural Beauty from Your North Osaka Hotel

If you choose to stay in North Osaka, take some time to visit the Meijinomori Minoh Quasi-National Park. Explore the paths through the tree-lined gorge to see the spectacular Mino Waterfall, or pick up the start of the Tokai Natural Trail and enjoy the beautiful colours of the season whatever time of year. Also within the national park are several important temples linked to ancient Mountain Buddhism sites.

A little to the east, Settsukyo Gorge also offers striking scenery, good walking trails and hot springs. If you visit in the spring, be sure to check out the Cherry Blossom Festival held in the southern part of the Settsukyo Gorge Park.
