The service is getting worse and worse.
First, the check in process was very slow. Front desk is one of the most important parts of a hotel as the staff at front desk is the first person who interacts with clients, but the staff at front desk had not been trained properly, because she did not know the facilities and services the hotel provided.
Additionally, she gave me a room for disabled clients, but I am not a disabled person, I don’t know what she is doing, if I continued to stay in this room, there would be no rooms for disabled clients, this made me felt so bad. I tried to call front desk but the staff at front desk could not speak English, so I had to go to the front desk and requested to change another room. The supervisor of front desk Jennifer apologized to me and intended to upgrade my room but I refused and asked for my standard room. If I accept the upgraded room, it means I accept their apologies and mistakes. I think upgrading rooms is for VIP and frequent clients and the clients on birthday.
I don’t think that it is an issue on the staff named Manrida but the responsibility on management team.
We stayed with a group of seven for the 2015 World Track championships. None of us had ever been to China and most of us don't travel internationally very often. We were a big messy loud group of Americans and the staff at the Sheraton treated us so graciously. The concierge staff especially helped us. Thank you so much to all of them.

Booked for just one night (passing through Tokyo), but I enjoyed my stay! Room was spotless, modern, with very good room service for a foreigner (reception spoke some English and was very accommodating).
Here for a conference, so staying at the hotel made sense. The resturant in the hotel is nothing special, neither is the hotel bar. It has been impossible to find a decent dry martini!
Breakfast was buffet style and actually good, although expensive if it is not included with your stay. Internet connection is dismal, but this is more likely just the fact that you are in mainland China rather than a responsibility of the hotel.

For the most part, it was a pleasing 16 night stay. The hotel lobby is very nice... the room was pleasing... and the restaurant was just fine.
As a review of the room, it was a non-smoking room, but every once in a while, you could catch a whiff of some of the old smoke. The bed was great, if you like firm. I personally, like it a little softer, but it was a good bed none the less. The shower was absolutely amazing! A granite lined square with glass doors, and water pressure that left you feeling like the job got done. It would get very hot, and you could essentially use it as a sauna, if you wanted.
Unfortunately, no great views, unless you're at the northside upper floors... Olympic stadium about 3 miles away.
The line 8 subway (north-south) was only about 200m from the hotel. That was perfect for either heading up to the nest, or south into the city.
The staff was very nice. Tons of concierge and restaurant staff, who most could speak enough english to communicate successfully.
Request a non-smoking room, and more than likely you'll enjoy your experience there. I definitely recommend it for it's quality, and ease of transportation.

"If you want a Western Hotel and your there for a convention - THIS IS IT!!!"
Hotels are a dine a dozen in Beijing and I am sure better quality and possibly price can be found too. However, Raddison Blue is my choice everytime, because I feel at home. The service, attention and communication is what I expect and then some. Furthermore, it is ajacent to the old convetion center, which make it very practicle and convenient - No Taxi needed, just about 200 yards walking and you are there - perfect!
The hotel has great views of Olympic park, especially at night, and is near by a shopping mall in the park with restaurants. The Expedia rate was great, and including breakfast is a good deal when added to the room rate. Restaurants at the hotel are very nice, but very expensive. Breakfast was very good.
Wifi connection was strong, but connections to US web sites is slow, and many are blocked by firewall in China. It worked well for email and news sites, not a lot else.
North Chaoyang is a center of commerce, recreation, and conventions. Home to a large number of Beijing’s foreign businesses, the district also hosts the International Convention Center, and the 12.5-square-km (8-square-mile) National Olympic Stadium and Park, which will be officially unveiled at the opening ceremony of the 2008 Olympics.
