The villa is born of the precious connection of art and knowledge of a father, skilful restorer, and his son, architect with innovative and eco-sustainable ideas. The result is a sophisticated, modern and at the same time profoundly Sicilian villa, ideal for those who are looking for an authentic holiday without renouncing style and comfort. You can access Villa nel Monte from a spacious and bright living room with sofa bed, a modern kitchen and access to the terrace and the panoramic garden. Upstairs you will find three bedrooms, all equipped with windows and air-conditioning. Two bathrooms with shower are one in the living area and the other in the sleeping area. A third bathroom and a fourth bedroom are located in the independent annexe, just below the terrace and closer to the pool. At 5 minutes walk from the house is Nicolosi, a vibrant village known as the 'Porta dell'Etna' that offers numerous restaurants, shops and sports facilities and is a must for those who wish to explore the largest volcano in Europe. In other words, you will have everything you need and more without ever having to take the car. Also, directly from the villa, a very nice path enriched by fruit trees leads to the top of Mount Mompilieri with a breathtaking view of the Gulf of Catania. When you are ready to leave Nicolosi and the wonders of Etna, with 20 minutes drive you can reach Catania with its baroque buildings, the ancient fish market, the shopping streets and a fine sandy beach. With just one hour drive, you will find Taormina, a world-class and elegant town, considered by many to be the pearl of the Mediterranean, and Siracusa, a fascinating and timeless town, with a romantic promenade and an ancient Greek theatre that cannot be missed. Whether you want to enjoy the Sicilian summer from a cooler and more privileged location or dream of skiing in winter on the snow of Mount Etna, Villa nel Monte is without a doubt one of the best holiday homes in this part of Sicily. Other details to note: In a room on the first floor, the single bed is a 160 cm children's bed. The price includes a set of linens and bath towels per person. On request, it is possible to arrange a transfer (for up to 7 people). However, we recommend that all our guests rent a car for their stay in Sicily. The private pool measures 9 by 4 meters and it is completely fenced. The house had everything we needed and some necessities left for us including a lovely cake. Plenty of room for 5 of us in the house. Felt very comfortable and homely. It also felt very secure. The outside was very well maintained with the lovely pool, lots of umbrellas and sun loungers. A lovely big outdoor table which we often used in the evening. The cats were very friendly and being cat owners we made friends easily! Nicolosi 10 mins walk with lovely restaurants and bars. With only a week there, it went very quickly as we went to Mount Etna, Taormina and Catania. Easily accessible with the car. We particularly enjoyed the days at the villa with the pool and peaceful surroundings. Guilia was great with any questions we had and Toti was around to make sure the pool was cleaned and cats fed. It has enough space, is very nicely furnished and the garden is very large. We immediately felt at home and enjoyed our time very much. We especially liked the open living area with the large table and the garden area. Everything was very clean, there were enough towels and there were a few cool drinks in the fridge. And this cottage has the sweetest roommate, namely a small cat, which is incredibly cuddly and trusting. We definitely recommend this accommodation. They took care for everything, great equipment, very good self made food such as pie cake, saisonal fruits and Jam. They were reachable at any time and they kept in the background at the same time. The pool is just great and is cleaned regularly. There are plenty of toys for children. The house is fully equipped and is in good condition. The garden is planted green and very large. I travel a lot and I am used to rent luxury properties around the world, and I can confidently say that this property was by far the cleanest, best equipped I have ever experienced. The welcome was something else, a freshly baked home made cake and several local products were left for us to enjoy... Katia and Lidia were the perfect hosts, so kind and friendly. The owners were wonderful to work with prior to our stay as during our stay. We were greeted upon arrival. There was a homemade cake as well as fruit and beverages. The grounds are beautiful. The villa is very comfortable and easily accommodated 3 couples and 2 single adults. The location is in Nicolosi which is within walking distance of the villa and offers some outstanding restaurants, patisseries and grocery stores. The airport in Catania is about 25 minutes from the villa. The kitchen is well equipped and organized. The beds and showers were comfortable. The large kitchen-diner lends itself well to family lunches and dinners. The annex allows the more sedate in a group to escape early in the evenings if they need to. Bathrooms and bedrooms have everything you need and are well designed. Seating areas outside and the private pool are excellent. The photos do not do it justice! If you are seeking a luxury Villa, fully equipped with everything you need, within view of the majestic Etna, this is the one for you. Host Lidia and her family also make sure you are comfortable and the welcome food and drinks are delicious! Also, very important, great aircon, and plenty of land surrounding the Villa to assure your privacy. ##### Joanna W. The pool was so relaxing after days of sightseeing. The playground on the upper terrace was enjoyed by our grandchildren. A hike to the crater in the back yard is not to be missed. A panoramic view of the area was amazing. We were greeted with food and wine that prevented us from making a trip to the store on our arrival. Several markets were in close proximity. Lydia and Tito were prompt in addressing any issues with the property. We were fortunate to experience many light shows from Mt. Etna from the upper terrace. It was truly amazing!
