Nice hotel close to everything
The hotel is typical New Town architecture in a quiet area, yet only a 10 minute walk from downtown. The hotel is in a nice building, but my room was in the 'basement'. Although it had a fairly large window, it was located next to the boiler room (humming noise) and below the hotel kitchen... I could hear steps in the evening and early in the morning - not ideal when you are on vacation! I asked to be moved but they were fully booked. That was not my idea of spending a week in Edinburgh. A 3-star hotel should not have rooms in the basement, and certainly not next to the boiler and below the kitchen. I would go back only if I can get a room above the ground floor. Staff was friendly though and the location great.

Thank you for your slightly varied feedback.
All our rooms are priced very competitive for the city centre of Edinburgh. I am slightly confused with the feedback regarding your room being next to the boiler room? The boiler is located in a different part of the hotel, which is not near the room you were in. I can only apologise that you heard some noise during your stay. If we know in advance that you require a room on a certain floor we can certainly accommodate this where possible.
I am glad that you found our staff to be friendly. We are always here to help and assist with whatever you require.
