The Helm

"Awful place. One star is too much. More like a doss house. Unopened post piling up at the door. Floors could do with a good clean. Hand written paper signs stuck on the door and walls. Very scruffy looking. I arrived at about 2am. My room was very cold. I asked for the heating to be put on. They said "OK" but didn't do it. Heating didn't come on later either. Bedside lamps from the local Sue Ryder shop were tatty and plugged into an extension bar. The only power outlet was on the other side of...

"Excellent stay at The Old Vicarage. The building has obviously been tastefully restored, but still olds some old charm. The rooms are extremely comfortable, with lovely beds and are spotlessly clean. Good tea and coffee facilities and an excellent breakfast. 3.0 star property
9.2 out of 10, Wonderful, (5)
"The bed was super comfortable and the place was clean and tidy. The tv was not a smart tv as stated and the shower was very small , I’m glad neither of us were big people as it was tight to get between the shower and sink to use the toilet and there was no tv in the bedroom , we found on arrival a hot tub which I wish we knew about , unfortunately it was not the weather to use it. yes we would stay again despite the few little negative things . "Lovely tidy property, had all the mods and cons needed but the walls were a little thin and we could hear our nextdoor neighbours, And they could probably hear us. The hot tub was a selling point for us but unfortunately it wasn’t the cleanest and couldn’t use it for long. (2 evenings max). Also, the bed was a little too short for my 6ft4 husband."
