Find hotels in Montefranco from £46

The best time to go to Montefranco is during the spring (April to June) and autumn (September to October) months.

These periods offer pleasant weather, with warm days great for exploring the Umbrian countryside without the intense heat of summer. You'll find the landscape lush and green in spring, while autumn brings beautiful colours and the opportunity to experience local harvest festivals.

Couples often find these shoulder seasons ideal for a romantic and relaxed trip. The fewer crowds compared to peak summer allow for more intimate experiences, whether it's enjoying a quiet meal at a local trattoria or exploring the historic hill towns at a leisurely pace. The mild temperatures are also great for outdoor activities like hiking or cycling through the Valnerina valley.

For travellers looking to experience authentic local life, autumn is particularly rewarding. This is when many sagre (local food festivals) take place, celebrating regional produce like truffles, olives, and grapes.
