Holiday Inn Brighton Seafront by IHG

10/10 Excellent

"I've been going to Brighton for over 30 years and stayed at many places (the Grand, Metropole (now the Doubletree), Old Ship, many a B & B, the old Thistle, etc.; but I think that this humble little Holiday Inn Seafront is my favorite. Very reasonable price for a seaview room, and you can also get breakfast and dinner included and the food is great. Wonderful veggie sausages at breakfast, and the pastry chef makes a fantastic vegan raspberry croissant. The terrace is especially nice in pleasant weather--you can sip cocoa there in the morning and enjoy the sun glittering off the English Channel. Easy walking distance to shopping, the Lanes, buses, and the train station. All the staff are pleasant and friendly: on this trip, Rowan, Andy, and Fiona were especially helpful. I've stayed there my last 3 trips to Brighton. I hope I'll be able to go back again soon."

"I stayed for two nights at this hotel. The location is excellent, as it is very close to Brighton Station. The breakfast buffet was very good, with a nice selection of food. However, I found the staff, particularly the lady hosting breakfast, to be unfriendly. On the first day of my stay, I was unwell and barely ate anything, including dinner that evening. The following morning, I asked if I could take my breakfast to my room because I still wasn’t feeling well. Unfortunately, the hostess simply said “no” without asking why or showing any understanding of my situation. I felt the response lacked empathy and customer care. As someone who also works in the hospitality industry, I understand that policies need to be followed, but I also believe good service means listening to guests and showing compassion when appropriate. In this case, I felt the focus was more on getting through the shift than helping a guest who was unwell. Overall, the hotel was good, mainly because of its convenient location and the quality of the breakfast, but the staff’s attitude could be improved to provide a more welcoming experience."

"We had a pet friendly room for our stay in Brighton Hampton by Hilton. The staff were very friendly and were able to provide us with a small fridge which helped as the weather was very hot. I made use of the gym, pool and sauna which made the trip extra special, which I also recommend. I look forward to coming back to this hotel. We didn't eat here because we could not bring our dog with us, however, Brighton offers many restaurants and cafes that do allow pets, so this was not a problem. Thanks to all the staff for welcoming us."

"this hotel is in a great location, right on the seafront a couple of min walk from the pier and only a 5min walk from the town centre. the rooms are large, and well equipped with a table and chairs, dressing table, large double bed and wardrobe with a hairdryer, iron and ironing board in the room also. the downside is that the hotel could really do with having some investment, while everything worked in the room it is dated and somethings in need of repair/upgrading. the shower curtain for example only covered 3/4 of the shower so the floor got wet when used. the shower holder was difficult to adjust and missing a cover. while these art major problems they are little things that drop it from a 4star to a 3star stay in my opinion. All that said for the price I would definitely stay here again."
