"I had such a delightful stay! The room was spacious and clean, with a breathtaking view that added to the enjoyment. The staff were incredibly friendly, making me feel right at home. "Warm comfortable room in lovely hotel that is walking distance from lake. House was where Beatrix Potter took holidays & she eventually bought it for her mother. Love the whimsical touches such as carpets & wallpaper. Easy private parking included. Stairs to rooms on first & second floors but staff help with luggage if needed. Dinner & breakfast at the hotel restaurant were good."

"Attractive location right on the waterfront with boat moorings, lakeside patio and garden. Relaxed atmosphere, airy common areas and a cosy bar. We had a lovely lake view room. Good unpretentious food in the brasserie restaurant. Will come again!"

"Hotel was comfortable, room larger than expected & shown in photos. Rooms overlooking the car park can be a little noisy, and affected by the smell of smoke, but that is due to inconsiderate people rather than a hotel issue!"

"I liked so much of it. Draw back for me as a 62 yr old woman travelling alone was the dining experience. Both at dinner and breakfast I was put in the middle of the room where I felt vulnerable. I did say something but they said it was what they had available. I did book a month or two ago so this wasn’t a last minute thing. I guess there will be those whose who don’t understand my concerns but there will be many others that will get it totally. Otherwise the room and lounges were all excellent."

"Very nice hotel, all the staff we dealt with were very polite and friendly. The cooked breakfast was cooked fresh, we had one evening meal which was very nice. The only downside was that the Spa was being renovated, I would definitely use this hotel again."
