This is not our first visit to the salty dog, we usually travel with our Westie Iona who is treated like a vip here. So when travelling without her we didn’t hesitate to book again. The rooms are all different with a personally to suit their shape and position in the hotel. They are clean and comfortable. The team from breakfast through to bed time a warm friendly and keen to do what ever it takes to make your stay perfect. Such a relaxed and welcoming environment. The breakfast is fresh and...

A friendly comfortable upmarket hotel with a very reasonable room rate. The Bar even stocks local Craft bottled beers from FARMAGGEDON, just 8 miles up the road.

This was our 2nd stay here. We and our dog were made feel very welcome and had the lovliest relaxing stay. Beautiful property with great relaxation spaces and the breakfasts were delicious. Wonderful place, we would definitely recommend a stay here!

The hotel was wonderful - we had a lovely, spacious, quiet room. Breakfast was excellent as were the meals we had in the Bistro and in the restaurant. It exceeded our expectations - the reviews had made us nervous of noise etc. from wedding parties but we were there across a busy August weekend with weddings and a coach party and it didn't affect us at all. We were visiting our son who was working in Belfast and we had hired a car so we could tour around. He was also able to get taxis to us...

My partner and I had a wonderful stay here. It was ideal as we landed at George best airport and it was only a short drive away. We were greeted at the front desk by this lovely gentleman who made us feel more than welcome. Helped us with where to get food despite the late hour. He even stored my partners insulin in the fridge somewhere safe. The beds were very comfortable and we had no disturbances all night. Highly recommend!!

Great hotel, great staff, great location. Only let down is the parking. Value parkings definition of 24hrs is "after midnight". So I you park at 11pm and pick your car up at 8am the next day.... boom....£17 with hotel discount. If The Flint negotiated a better deal for drivers using the car park, this hotel would beat all others.
It's an amazing place to stay and feels like a home from home.

The best area to stay in Millisle is along the coast, particularly around the main High Street and the beachfront.
This central area offers easy access to the village's primary amenities and the sea. The High Street runs parallel to the coastline and is where you'll find local shops, eateries, and the Millisle Beach Park, a popular spot for a stroll or a picnic. The area is quite compact and easy to navigate on foot.
For families, staying near the beachfront is an excellent choice. You'll be just steps away from the sandy shores of Millisle Beach, superb for children to play and for enjoying the coastal air. The Millisle Beach Park often hosts local events during the warmer months, providing entertainment for all ages.
Couples looking for a relaxing escape will appreciate the quieter parts of the coastal area, slightly away from the immediate High Street bustle but still with sea views.
When is the best time to go to Millisle?
The best time to visit Millisle is during the summer months, from June to August, when the weather is at its most pleasant, and the area is at its most active.

It's a great time for families looking to make the most of outdoor activities and the longer daylight hours.
Couples might also appreciate the summer for its relaxed atmosphere and opportunities for scenic drives along the Ards Peninsula.
