"I have not stayed here for years and was surprised to see that its still a Brend Hotel ( family hotel). I went for breakfast and it was a traditional waiter service breakfast eg you are shown to a table, another waiter takes your order, you choose the items you want and its freshly cooked ( no food sitting under a heated light)"

"An oasis of calm in a lovely small historic city. Make sure you use the pool and garden and enjoy a glass of champagne during happy hour, outside if the sun is shining! Wonderful short stay!"

"The hotel staff were very friendly and welcoming, the room was comfortable, and the breakfast excellent. I would be happy to stay again. The hotel is conveniently situated for both railway stations and for the Cathedral."

"The rooms we had were a big step above the student rooms we had back in the 1980's although they could benefit from better ventilation in hot weather. The fact they had ensuite facilities and lifts helped greatly. The breakfast was very good indeed and the staff very professional and friendly."
