![Took a bit of a hiatus recently to go to #japan and it was everything I dreamed and more. Thought this shot was an appropriate #takeahike entry as it was not something I expected to see in the middle of Japanese summer! Leaving in the morning from Toyama in 27+ degree (Celsius) heat to do the Tateyama Kurobe Summer Alpine Route, I thought the rest of the day would be spent in a T-shirt. What a beautiful surprise! Snow and volcanic scenery. And we even drove past some snow monkeys 💙. Falling hard and fast for Japan and its trekking routes, and finally making my Trover wishlist dreams a reality! Outdoor tub included with room can only hold two people, food included with half board was buffet style and wasn't very good, however had a decent selection of western, japanese and chinese cuisines."

![Took a bit of a hiatus recently to go to #japan and it was everything I dreamed and more. Thought this shot was an appropriate #takeahike entry as it was not something I expected to see in the middle of Japanese summer! Leaving in the morning from Toyama in 27+ degree (Celsius) heat to do the Tateyama Kurobe Summer Alpine Route, I thought the rest of the day would be spent in a T-shirt. What a beautiful surprise! Snow and volcanic scenery. And we even drove past some snow monkeys 💙. Falling hard and fast for Japan and its trekking routes, and finally making my Trover wishlist dreams a reality! "The staff were very responsive and friendly. The hotel was also very warm and inviting - they lit the fireplace on some nights and there were fun amenities in the lobby like hammocks and a foosball table. My 9 year old daughter loved the kid's club and was there before dinner everyday. My husband and I also loved the gym - it was very clean and well equipped. The onsen was also wonderful, especially the outdoor section. The breakfast buffet selection was very wide and we needed a couple of days to finish discovering all the dishes. Parking was free and very convenient - we were able to park very close to the lobby. The room was spacious and had a huge powder room and a very clean shower and bath area. Housekeeping was very good at making sure we were well supplied with drip coffee and bottled water everyday. The only small downside was the distance between the hotel and the closest town. Thankfully we drove, so it wasn't difficult to get in and out. The surrounding area is beautiful and we would love to visit again not just for the hotel, but also for the scenic spots!"
