"A fantastic overnight stop in the heart of Wigtown. Mal and Nicole are excellent hosts, and the whole place is spotless, comfortable, and beautifully presented. Nicole cooks everything from fresh, and the breakfast was one of the highlights of my stay. Dinner was equally delicious, again all cooked from fresh by Nicole. The book-themed rooms are a lovely touch and perfectly reflect Wigtown's reputation as Scotland's National Book Town. If you're looking for a warm welcome, a great night's sleep, and an excellent breakfast, this is the place to stay. I wouldn't hesitate to return."

"Our stay at Cladach was superb. The house is spotlessly clean, really nicely furnished & contains everything you could possibly want for the perfect stay. The living/dining area is spacious & there are three good bedrooms including one with a sofa & additional TV if someone needs some downtime. Each room has their own bathroom as well as a cloakroom downstairs.The kitchen is probably the best equipped rental we've ever had, in terms of crockery, cooking utensils etc. Mary really has thought of everything. The location is good overlooking the harbour & it's a nice walk through the village, which has a shop, pub, cafe, childrens play area & even two bowling greens! The views are amazing & there are good coastal walking paths.Booking and communication with the Host was seamless.All in all we believe we struck gold here & very much hope to return in the not too distance future"

"Exceptional cottage and fantastic facilities. Amazing view and sunrises. Fantastic layout, very well equipped and very very comfortable beds. Rest and relaxation and even when storm Dave hit we were cosy. Owner was really helpful and kept in touch with weather warning updates. Can’t wait to visit again - a lot! "

"Shore Cottage is in a beautiful, peaceful setting and the beach is 5 minutes walk away. You can't see it from the cottage (as implied by pictures). The cottage is beautiful and spotlessly clean. Very comfortable bed. Hairdryer was provided but not mentioned in info. The appliances are all new and good quality, except the Nespresso machine which leaked and wasn't usable. Kitchen was well-equipped. There was a welcome pack and the milk and bread were particularly useful as there are no local shops at all! Nearest about 7 miles away. Local pub was lovely, friendly and excellent food (you need to book); also The Hive cafe was very nice. The enclosed garden was perfect and safe for our dog, and the hosepipe to wash him after muddy walks was an excellent idea. I couldn't write in the visitors' book because I didn't have a pen. The cottage was lacking a few personal touches (obviously run by an agent) eg. there were no books or games for rainy days. Magazines in the rack dated 2019. There was a CD player but no CDS. No signal for the radio in the kitchen. Not vital, but would have been nice, especially in poor weather. The TV signal was very poor - and it rained heavily one day so we could have done with it! The throws on the sofa were a brilliant idea to keep it clean, and we brought our own as well. Reasonably dog friendly with throws to protect furniture and dog towels provided - dog bowls would be useful. The dog had a wonderful time. The wifi did work quite well for whatsapp and browsing, and we had a phone signal too. There was nobody booked next door at Orchard cottage so it was very peaceful - might be different if it was occupied. A lovely place, especially for walking and enjoying the arboretum and gardens."
