This was a return trip to this property - again, a perfect stay. Great communication with the owner, very comfortable, well appointed mountain home. We enjoyed the hot tub even in the rain, and relaxing by the fire inside, as well as a winter visit to Yosemite (45 min drive away).

Suffice to say, Kathleen, Alex and Sydney went above and beyond to look out for our well-being during an unusually stormy January. Their cabin was the perfect refuge. Would love to stay again.

This was our second time staying here, and it was just as nice as our first. The host Kathleen was very communicative, helpful and accommodating from the beginning. The place is well-kept, stocked with the essentials, and situated in a nice natural area that is perfect for a relaxing family get-away. We hope to return again soon!

Our family stayed in the property as a base for visiting Yosemite. Excellent property and great location to do day trips to the park, which was about an hour to Yosemite Valley. We enjoyed the seclusion of the home but also were able to go into Mariposa to eat at some excellent restaurants. Very friendly and responsive hosts. Highly recommend this property.

Awesome place! In the middle of no were but perfect for visiting Yosemite. The kitchen is equipped with most everything, which is what we want - we don't care to eat out while on vacation and hiking. The deck needs some maintenance but other than that it was clean and comfortable. I would stay here again if we are ever in the area.

Enjoyed the 3-day weekend with my adult kids in this hidden gem in the Sierras. Property is lovely with amazing country roads and ponds. Close to Yosemite and Bass Lake. I could just hang out on the deck all morning!

This is our third stay at this comfortable cabin, in a quiet wooded hillside. One hour’s drive to Yosemite Valley (El Portal entrance). Nice amenities - hot tub, wood burning fireplace (wood stove), kitchen that opens to the dining and living area, high ceilings. Great for a cozy winter stay! Great communication with the host.

Overall this was the perfect home base for a quick weekend trip to Yosemite. Some of the roads in the area are a bit rough, so be ready! We recommend coming in from closer to Mariposa. Otherwise you are in for a steep and windy gravel road.

We LOVED this property!! My kids didn’t want to leave. It had everything you could want!! Cozy beds great kitchen! A lot of room!! Very clean! It was great having laundry after long hikes at Yosemite. Yosemite is about a 45 minute drive but it wasn’t bad. Grocery store was close. I highly recommend! It was very peaceful!!

Pretty amazing remote place. Quiet. The only questionable aspect of the property was the bedroom.
Difficult to sleep in with a skylight over the bed. Also, the bed had a mattress topper that made it too soft for our liking.Responsive host.

The house is very well located near the small town of Mariposa and near the road to the entrance of Yosemite National Park. The house fits up to six people and we used it in a group of five. One shower and toilet is limited to one room with a sink in the room itself. The other 4 guests need to share one bathroom.
The A/C is perfect. The outside deck needs a little upgrade. Also the ice cube machine was not working but the owner said it will be replaced.
I would always recommend this place even though the master bedroom mattress was far too soft for us. But this is individual taste.

Property is more than expected with architectural/design details not revealed by photos. Felt more luxurious than expected. 45 min drive to Yosemite park best done before dark as return to property is challenging after dark. After 3 nights we learned it. On property saw quail, red tufted woodpecker, doe snd faun , wild turkey. And sbby the neighbor dog came for visit

We had a nice stay and was not too far from Yosemite Valley. This cabin was better than I was expecting. It's big and had vaulted ceilings. We used the hot tub each night after a day of strenuous hiking up mountains. We also used the washer and dryer. The futon/pull-out couch in the living room was extremely comfortable. (I did not know that made high quality pull-out beds like that!) It was very comfy. The bed/mattress in the main bedroom was not comfortable, however. That would be my only complaint. It felt like an air mattress and whoever weighed more, sank that side of the bed. Other than that, we had a great stay! I'd stay here again.

The house was clean and peaceful while having good wifi and they have Netflix for nighttime entertainment. The kitchen is clean and has laundry room which is convenient. We enjoyed the tranquility of the place while still being near Mariposa. We didn’t go Yosemite because we just wanted to unwind.
We weren’t able to use the BBQ because there was water on the bottom and it could use some cleaning. Also the toaster needs replacing. Other than that, the cabin provided a much needed respite.

We are a traveling trio of 2 sisters and 1 lifelong friend -- we have done cruises and national parks and interesting cities together. We were in the area to visit Yosemite and wanted a nice comfortable place to stay. This Oaks and Pines cabin was perfect, complete with the promised "meandering deer". In fact one meandered right up to the back deck to munch on a plant. LOL
The cabin was comfortable, kitchen stocked with staples -- close to Mariposa with nice grocery and several good places to eat.
Our only issue was a malfunction on the Amazon Fire stick, called Alex and Kathleen and was immediately taken care of by their son. ;-)
If you want a quite, beautiful retreat this is your place -- highly recommed.

The location is perfect if visiting Yosemite. The town of Mariposa was so nice and some nice places to eat & shop. The home has a couple of skylights, one in particular in one of the bedrooms which makes it very hard to sleep past 5:45am. The hot tub did not work. It was hot just no bubbles. The coffee maker takes about an hour to make a pot of coffee and the home is in need of extra blankets. The mattress in the skylight room was not very comfortable & caused both people to roll towards the middle while sleeping in it. The mosquitoes were pretty bad so really couldn’t enjoy the outdoor deck.
We loved the remote feel of the home.

If you are looking for a quiet, relaxing locale this is the place. Off the beaten path but easily driven. House is bright and clean with many windows. Wrap around decks are great for relaxing with a glass of wine. Kitchen is well stocked - plenty of glasses, dinnerware, pots and pans (could have used a slow cooker). Enjoyed having our morning coffee and watching the wild turkeys strolling by. Plenty of deer as well. Yosemite is 55 miles (hour and a half) away. Hot tub was welcome after day’s hiking. Mariposa is a nice little town (five miles away) and not too “touristy”. Savoury and 1850 restaurants are good, as is Pioneer Market for groceries. The sprinklers wet the stone steps leading up to the entrance making them a little slick - not a big problem, just be mindful of them. We had a very enjoyable week.
