The building itself, facilities and location were all fine (aside from the lingering cigarette smell in many places). It was the staff that were the problem. Most of the hotel employees seem to "think" that reasonable guest requests could be ignored. The only competent staff member was the hotel manager.
I booked a non-smoking room. The check in clerks TWICE tried putting me in a filthy, smoke filled room.
I asked that the minibar be emptied. THREE times I called the concierge and nothing was done. NINETY minutes later, I had to get the hotel manager to do the other people's job.
The concierge "thinks" it is perfectly okay to leave a suitcase unattended in the lobby where it could be stolen, instead of locking it in the secured baggage room when asked. Again, it required asking the hotel manager.
Other guests repeatedly smoked on the NON-SMOKING FLOOR in the room and hallways. The hotel staff refused to do anything, and again it required the hotel manager to solve it.
Twice, housekeeping did NOT remove garbage and tried to rifle though my possessions until I locked them in my suitcase. (Nothing was stolen, but that's not the issue). I had to waste my time every day supervising them to ensure things were done properly.
The attendant in the fitness room "thinks" people want to hear his choice of music at deafening volumes. He resented requests to turn it down to a reasonable level (e.g. 70 decibels).

Right in the heart of the business/ cultural and entertainment centers of Manila/ Century Park Hotel is just 7 kms. away from …More
Staffs were courteous, clean rooms and comfortable size (four of us). Reception area very presentable, even my friend who pick us up was impress of this little jewel that is hidden inside a metropolitan Manila. Close to all, buffet selection is not much, but doable. Would recommend to friends. Definitely will come back and stay with them.
Well the overall ambiance when you enter the hotel is quite good for a budget hotel.
The only thing I didn't like is the bathroom. The hot water in the shower was weak. There's no mat at the bathroom so its quite messy (seems there's a leak coming from the toilet bowl). I tried calling the front desk but there's no answer. Anyways, i thought i'll stay for only a night and I arrived around 1 am so I decided not to bother. The wifi connection is poor too.
Hotel is conveniently located for many of Manila's tourist attractions. The room had the benefit of kitchen facilities, though the supply voltage seemed low causing the stove to struggle to get up to a sensible temperature for cooking.
I shared the room with a mouse for the last three days that the staff seemed quite disinterested in doing anything about.
In other respects the hotel was a pleasant stay - the door staff in particular were very helpful in getting taxis and giving advice.
I have read other reviews about this hotel, but after staying for 8 days myself, I can say that this hotel is an excellent hotel. First, the hotel is actually in a safe location, many say its in a bad neighborhood but its pretty safe, believe me I have live in manila and I know when a neighborhood is bad. Second, it is close to everything if you know where to go. I suggest you roam around in the morning to get to know what is around you, eg: 7 eleven, pure gold grocery store, jolibee, McDonald, banks and atms are all walking distance. The staff are very friendly and will help you as much as they can, they may not understand you well if you speak another language other than Tagalog, but they are willing to go above and beyond to make sure they can help you as much as you can. They keep the hotel pretty clean and well maintained, daily room clean if you desired. The rooms are actually pretty roomy and has more to offer than most hotels I had stayed in. There are many more good things to say about the hotel but I do not want to write a book, so I suggest to book this hotel to see for yourself. For the price, it is a very nice hotel to stay in. Also the only thing that might make you complain about this hotel is that it has 5 floors but no elevator. This was not a deal breaker or a big concern to me but it might be for some, the staff are more willing to help you with your luggage if you just ask. Also to use the WiFi you have to go to the front desk to ask for a code daily.
